Nice gift for an otter lover
Quite a sweet gift for an otter lover. It’s not going to change your outlook on life, but a nice stocking filler

Be More Otter
This book manages to strike a really obscure, but wonderful, balance between being something of a self-help book and a non-fiction fact file for otters. Essentially, the author, I think, hopes to spread a little joy with genuinely funny notes and the intention to use otters as a prime example of how to live a better life. By that I don't mean by encouraging readers to buy nice things for themselves, be successful in the careers or be exceptional parents. Sure, those things matter and they ultimately make the world go around. But, we all meet our end one way or another and it seems a real shame to spend that life striving for perfection and stressing about what's coming in the future when perhaps what we should be doing is living in the present. A degree of planning is required, for sure, but enjoying the life you live, however long or short, is what really counts. I'm not sure I have ever taken a breath to actually think about this sort of thing. Self help books or motivational texts are not really my thing. But otters most definitely are. Fun facts about otters with cute illustrations motivated me to want to read this book, but I certainly didn't expect to come away from it with any meaningful thoughts. On the contrary, I think Jennifer McCartney might be on to something: perhaps there is quite a lot to be learned from these playful creatures, if only you take the time to stop and look at it.

Not for kids
It's a lovely little book but I bought it for a 9 year old... unfortunately it's a book for adults.. wouldnt have been too bad if it wasnt for the swearing in it.
