So okay, I should say up-front that I have albinism…which means I don't tan. Not even a little. In fact, not at all. But I can burn…very, very, very easily. So I have to be extremely careful in the sun…way more than almost anyone.. So you can imagine the preparation I made for a recent trip to Jamaica for my niece's wedding. Now I have used a lot of sunscreens throughout my life…and I have to say I pretty much hate all of them. The ones that are do a great job at keeping me safe from the sun are the very ones that feel and smell the worst. Even though I need it, I hate sunscreen…it's a necessary evil. So I was pretty pumped to see something with broad spectrum protection that claimed to be "light as air". And, I have to say, the Banana Boat pretty much lived up to that claim. It's basically non-greasy and, if you work it in for a few minutes, it feels pretty good. But what I especially love is that it has a very mild scent…sort of a pleasant hint of orange…which made me feel far less freaky while wearing it in public. During my Jamaica week, the Light as Air did an amazing job of keeping me sunburn free…and trust me, without it I would have been absolutely cooked…I am 100% certain of this. There are two bits of advice I would give, however. First is that you cannot skimp on applying it…you have to be fairly generous. If you give yourself a few minutes and time to work it in, it applies quite nicely and feels great…but it only works if you don't hold back…just take maybe ten minutes to work it in everywhere. The other bit of advice I would give is to take Banana Boat's suggestion that you re-apply every couple of hours because 50 SPF won't take you through more than a couple of hours. In effect, if you are in the sun for a week, like I was, you are very easily going to go through a whole container. But for me, ~$10 was worth it because this is the first sunscreen I've encountered that pretty much works for me, but which isn't at all icky or stinky to wear.

After a trip to the dermatologist I decided it was time to start wearing sunscreen more often. I did a lot of research and ended up picking this product - I’m glad I did. I can’t stand the greasy feel of most sunscreens, especially on my face so I was very happy that this is very light and not greasy at all. I’ve read some reviews that slam the smell - I have to disagree, it’s a very mild “tropical” scent that dissipates rather quickly. This stuff is great, I’ll definitely purchase again.

I purchased this for a cruise to Fiji and Tahiti; where I knew I needed extra sun protection. It sinks in quickly, totally non-greasy, stays on in the water; and best of all, did not travel into my eyes. I have been using a store brand of high quality with only a 15 SPF as it was the only one that I had found that didn't travel to eyes and cause stinging. This sunblock ( SPF 50 ) kept my fair skin from burning!

This is a fantastic sunscreen. I forget I have it on! It has a light fruity scent that seems to disappear. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin-including on my face. The downside is it’s expensive but if it makes me more likely to use it daily it’s worth it.

It feels very lightly hydrating and pretty decent on the skin. Doesn’t settle in my pores on my legs like other sunscreens do, or leave any cast. Had a light sheen after application but seems to soak in or go away within about 10 minutes.My only negative is the scent. It’s that banana coconut scent that banana boat is known for. I read some reviews saying it was a light citrus scent on their website which is inaccurate. It’s not light. It’s not citrus. It doesn’t smell bad, just like fake coconut. And I am not a fan of it. If it was unscented or had a very light fresh/clean scent it’d be top on my list probably. I’ll finish the bottles, but I won’t repurchase.

Great product. One should use sunscreen every day and this is a cost effective and pleasant way to do so. I also bought the little 1 oz size to keep in my backpack in case I need to reapply during the day.

This sunscreen is wonderful! It has replaced my Aveno face moisturizer/sunscreen. It's SPF 50 but it's absorbs right into the skin without any residue. I put it in a smaller bottle for everyday use and travel. I definitely recommend this for facial moisturizer with SPF!

Of course, I want a sunscreen to work, and this one does - I chose the SPF 50. But also, I don't want to feel like I just covered my face and arms with motor oil. This has a nice, light feeling, and mostly just soaks right in, like a quality lotion. I will buy it again, for sure.
