It works. It does have a pretty good resistance to water, as long as its not a full shower. The scent is that of a "hold spray". It dries fast and holds. After drying, you may have to spread the fibers and spray again. Just follow the directions and style as you like. I use a business card as an applicator because it's hard paper and won't bend.

Personally I like the system very much and I read a lot of comments stating that it doesn't work or it's a waste of money. I disagree in that the hair fibers and hair spray works fine if you apply it right. It works well for me because I create my hairline with scotch tape, then I apply a layer of hold spray on my scalp and start sprinkling the hair fibers. I don't use the applicator if I'm doing it myself. For best results you have to sandwich the hair fibers and hold spray meaning apply the hold spray, start applying the fibers, add another layer of hold spray, and another layer or hair fibers till you get your desired result. The only thing I don't like about the hold spray is the shinny scalp effect. That's the only reason why I didn't give it a 5 star. However the system works and if you apply it right it looks way more natural than Toppix because I used that in the past as well and it doesn't compare to Hair Illusions. Hair Illusions might be more expensive but to me it's worth it.

This is definitely not a paid review. I really don't know if people get paid. Hair illusion , is a GREAT PRODUCT. When I comb my hair it stays on. When I get in the tub the water doesn't turn gray. When I put my hands through my hair it doesn't leave a black stain on my hand. When I go to bed there is no stain on my pillow . The next day I don't need to reapply it. I'm so glad I found this product.

I bought this product based on reviews here at Amazon, which I’ve come to realize don’t mean much. Not sure if the product that I got was defective, but to even ‘prime’ the sprayer for the liquid to spray out, you have to press the pump about 6-10 times and then, what ‘spits’ out first is a THICK SQUIRT/DRIP of the product making a mess all over your hair, face or counter top - it’s not until a few more energetic pumps that the product finally sprays as a thick MIST in a way that might be useable. And now to review the actual liquid/product - it doesn’t seem any different than any medium hold hair spray. It can’t compete w the likes of NEXXUS MAXXIMUM HOLD hair spray, which does micro-misting. However, do consider that I’m not fully bald either, so this product seems to provide little value for someone like myself? Lastly, while I’ve not tried their hair fibers, the best I’ve tried (and have used daily for years) are from FINALLY HAIR - you can mix them to create your specific color, although they have aplenty of colors to suit most people, specially those w dark hair. And they are a HIGH QUALITY, LOW COST products. I’ve tried the TOPIK hair fibers and that’s a mess of bad quality product that looks VERY UNNATURAL - it really is DUST, not hair fibers - and god forbid you sweat, the black color turns into a green/blue tint running down your forehead. As far as the atomizer for the fibers, the outcome here is opposite: Finally Hairs sprayers sucks as it requires BOTH of your hands to operate it - Ironically, I recommend buying the atomizer/pump from TOPIK - it allows for one handed pumping w precision control while you use the other hand w a comb or just to move your hair around as you spray the fibers. If you need a strong hold gel, the BIOSILK RICK HARD GELEE is where it’s at - you pour it in your palm and vigorously rub them to create a MOUSSE/FROTH that applies thick and white (full of air, but dries clear) generating volume that isn’t there - I use it to create the illusion of clumps of hair. This is the best combo I’ve found for years. If you use ALL these products (lots of the NEXXUS hair spray), you can withstand even a splash in the pool and black powder will NOT run down your face anywhere. Thus sweat, is nothing to sweat about LOL
