I BBQ on my balcony frequently and I wanted a straight door handle to enable me to go in and out the balcony door without having to set down my food tray or to leave the door partially open. This is an attractive, high quality locking door handle set. Once you unlock it with a key it is actually unlocked so you won't accidentally lock yourself out later. That was my problem with a couple other door handle sets I had in the past.

I bought this after the door handle on my teenage son's bedroom door malfunctioned. I made the aforementioned teenager follow the instructions and install him. He did so and in less than ten minutes had this installed and working perfectly! The only 'hiccup' is that the instructions say the thumb-lock has to be in a 'verticle' position, whereas it turned out that it had to be what I would consider 'horizontal', as in horizontal to the floor and ceiling, but that was quickly discerned with a minimum of fuss. Although grumbling at first, the teenager is now proud and happy. I am too, since it looks fine and is a near-match to the existing ones in the hallway. (My only lesson-learned is not to let anyone set the removed old decrepit door handle on the carpeted bedroom floor, since it dripped grease!!)

The cylinder with the catch does not stay in the hole. It rocks and the Mechanism sticks. You have to jiggle the handle to get it to come out. I will have to take the cylinder out and modify the door hole to make it tighter.

The new doorknob was easy to replace and will work better than the round knob it replaced.

Bought for replacement of standard round knob for easier opening, was kind of worried about sturdy but was very heavy duty, usual standard of needing to chisel plate for flush unless have a wide gap between door and frame, like the sturdy wide keys, needed to chisel out one side of handle assembly blades to fit into previous lock set hole, overall an excellent handle with not too much extra work to install it and quality appears to be good, plan on purchasing another set for a door that has limited space from knob to frame and should work very excellent in that location as well

I ordered 3. All were easy to mount and they operate without issue. However, the 'turn' of the handle is not as smooth as I would've expected. In fact they are 'notchy' as you turn them. Not a dealbreaker, but someone with hand problems may find it annoying or even hard to operate.

This fixed a couple of things for me, a lost key from the old knob and made it easier to operate for a disabled guest that uses the room in which the replacement doorknob was needed.
