This adjustable bed base is making a difference in our lives
The bed base was left IN OUR DRIVEWAY. The delivery guys didn't even knock on the door. The boxes are HEAVY. If you bought the base to relieve back pain, you had better arrange for help (we made a call). That said, once the bed base was opened and the legs screwed on, it was fairly simple to turn it over, and put it in place. The base is easy to plug in and the remotes worked perfectly right away. The sides of the base are securely covered in a medium weight gray material. The bed surface is covered in a thin black plastic membrane - nicely textured - about the thickness of a thin plastic food storage bag (not the freezer type). By the time our base was set up, despite the care taken, there was a tiny tear in the membrane. There is a raised rectangular 1" 'bump' on the surface of each base, top and bottom (we have a split king) where the lift mechanism sits beneath the plane of the base. This has not yet affected use of the 'lift' system, nor the comfort of the sleeping system we put together..We bought expensive natural latex mattresses which work well with the base. We purposely bought 10 inch thick mattresses so the vibration choices would be most effective (back and hip pain). It really works! Even the low level vibration lulls me to sleep, and helps my husband's back pain. The mechanism and vibration is quiet enough for light sleepers. We can rise and walk in the morning without pain, and tossing and turning at night due to pain at pressure points is greatly reduced. The articulation of the lift lines, head and foot, is designed for a short person. I"m 5/7" and my husband is 6'2". By sliding towards the foot of the bed, the leg lift raises my legs into a comfortable position. Since you slide a bit when the head of the bed lifts, it's okay. My husband is not so fortunate - the leg lift only lifts his feet, and leaves calves and part of the thigh unsupported (in the air). He puts a pillow under his legs before he activates the leg lift. Had we counted on a true zero gravity position, as we have in our zero gravity chair, we would have had to return the base. I do think it's a lot of money for a base that is not better articulated (this refers to the lines on which the base 'bends' or 'opens' as it raises at head or foot. The under bed 'night light', which we didn't really want, is the best 'night light' we've ever used. Great feature!Overall, the base is well made, and functions as described. We've found ways to make the articulation work, and find significant pain relief with the base-mattress combination we chose.

Nearly perfect adjustable frame!
I replaced a bed frame from another company with this one, after missing parts were still unavailable months later (to clarify, that was the other frame NOT this one).I like almost everything about this frame better. The high weight limit is great, some in this price range have an even higher limit, but most are significantly lower. The adjustment is great, it isn't a fully capable wall hugger, but it does move you back a bit, and is a noticeable improvement from my previous frame with 0 wall hugger function. The remote works just fine. The underbed lighting is a cool feature- but essentially useless if you use the shorter legs.NOTE: YOU CANNOT USE THE SHORTEST LEGS PROVIDED IN THE PACKAGE- they come in equal sizes sections, and the instructions do not make it clear that you must use AT LEAST two sections, otherwise the motor will hit the floor when it extends.Aside from that little snafu, my ONLY real complaint is that the legs are plastic instead of metal. At this price range many frames include metal legs, but I also don't really expect any issues from the plastic ones.Setup was a breeze.Highly recommend! If you haven't used an adjustable frame, you need one! I haven't used my CPAP since getting this, and I can climb into bed, adjust it up and just feel the back pain melt away.

Awesome but why is app developed by a company in China?
TL; DR: The bed itself is GREAT!!! It comes with a remote, so if youāre ok either not using the app OR with sharing your location to the app developer company, located in China, and you fully understand exactly what Wall Hugger technology does & does not do, then STOP LOOKINGāBUY THIS BED!!Review of the bed itself:I love my 5i bed!!! Itās totally amazing!!! Iāve wanted an adjustable bed at least since 2017 when I suffered a trimalleoral fracture in my left ankle and a severe sprain in my right one. I elevated my ankle before the surgery, and the nurse scolded me for ānot elevatingā my ankle. She tried to tell me I was lying! With this bed, I couldāve put it into the TV position with my head at the foot of the bed as nd rest my legs against the head of the bed. THAT wouldāve satisfied the nurse AND made me feel less pain.I aldo have lumbar stenosis as well as not the best circulation plus high blood pressure. The meds for the blood pressure give me edema. š¬š³š So this bed is fantastic for helping me with all of these issues. My only gripes with the product are minor:1. The remote should be backlit, have an option to choose it to stay constantly backlit or to delay-off for the backlighting that it needs2. Remote should have a beeper that you can activate by pressing a button on the bed and in the app. This would help restless sleepers like me find the remote in the middle of the night.3. Remote should not use batteriesāshould be rechargeable.4. Why canāt I turn off the blue outline around the USB ports on the side of the bed? People who are trying to sleep do NOT need more lights that they canāt turn off.5. The bed supposedly has āWall Huggerā technology. IT DOES NOT SEEM TO. Iāll post pics another day so You can see how far away the bed is away from the way when in the TV position, for example. In the other hand, perhaps I donāt understand what this term means; maybe Iām putting too high of an expectation on it. But I wouldnāt be annoyed if I could reach everything in my nightstand without turning around. I meanāthat is the point of the wall hugger technology. Or maybe I misread the chart and shouldāve ordered a different model to get that feature.I have a lot more to write, but I canāt right now. Iāl update later.Delivery: They only provide āfirst safe delivery.ā I recommend you communicate very well with the seller until you Totally understand EXACTLY what that means. They will not bring it up any stairs. If you have a covered porch, they might not even bring it inside the house. Theyād rather drop it in a garage or on a porch.HOWEVER, if you contact the seller, you can tell them what your situation is, and they will work with you to accommodate your needs. It might cost a little extra ($70 was their guess for the cost of a Saturday delivery), but thatās a lot better than hiring movers or worrying about it all day at work!I had an EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE with the seller. That is the reason I ended up contacting them. I had never heard of first safe delivery. Basically, thatās ābare bones, no frillsā delivery. No set up, no disposal. But thatās why they came offer such a great price!!āāā-My paranoid rant about the app:I understand we all need to cut costs, but why does this manufacturer need to have a comment located within China develop their app??Well, I went to the app developerās website, and it appears that IdealBed uses motors created by this company located in China, so of course they also make the app.So now I feel a bit stupid. I hadnāt thought about parts of the bed or perhaps even the entire thing being manufactured overseas as being a potential security threat. But after the recent news of the Chinese governmentās hacking activities in Canada a couple of years ago, then promising not to do it anymore, then breaking their promise! And now the US is attempting to extract a similar promise from China??The story I heard was reported by a reputable news outlet (Wired, CNN, NPR, or similar) over the weekend of February 4, 2024. Both the reporter/host and the expert guest stated that while all powerful nations do cyber-espionage nowadays, they were both concerned about bad actors/governments inserting malware into outdated hardware and/or software. All that being said, when I went to this companyās website, I used Safariās native tool to translate the page into English. In the same menu, I saw that there were ZERO TRACKERS REPORTED. I want to believe that this comment is simply good people trying to make a living s fill a need. But ZERO TRACKERS DETECTED?? Doesnāt that seem too good to be true??I guess that for now, Iām going to put more faith in Apple than in that (I assume much smaller) company. Meaning that Iāll believe Safariās report, even though Iām paranoid that āzero trackers detectedā means that theyāre present but Safari didnāt catch them, if only because Apple is a tech giant. This other company is diversified into four area, if I remember correctly. So Iām hoping that Apple is right.BUT Iāll keep checking back once a month or so AND Iāll open the page to Duck Duck Go or send it to Proton to see if they can detect any trackers. If I find trackers in their page, that still doesnāt mean theyāre putting malware into the US app. Not that Iām any kind of a big fish or anybody remotely important BUT that news story discussed a dystopian future in which governments turn peopleās infected devices into zombie robot armies that take down our infrastructure.I am not at all anti-any HUMAN, but Iām definitely not a fan of the Chinese government. I trust their government as much as I trust Putin.I know the tech company is NOT the government, but I donāt know what their government is willing to do to inject malware into the phones of US residents or what end-user data their government requires the company to share.PS: Just because youāre not paranoid doesnāt mean it isnāt happening! š¤£š¤£š¤£š¬š¬š¬š³

Great customer service!
We had an issue with the foot motor. I contacted the maker and they got the part sent out the same day and made arrangements to have it installed. Also the motors are quiet and smooth.
