Black Cross Red Star Air War Over the Eastern Front: Volume 5 -- The Great Air Battles: Kuban and Kursk April-July 1943

Another excellent book in this series, which is surely the definitive history of the air war on the Eastern Front. Excellent levels of detail with good maps and other illustrations, all clearly printed on quality paper. Plenty of well-reproduced photographs as well. The inside of the dust cover even has photographs of most of the aircraft mentioned in the book. If you have an interest in WW2 aviation then this book and this series should not be missed.I can't wait for volume 6 to appear!

When o When are they going to reprint Volume 3 ? I have 1,2 4 and 5 but 3 I missed and is now out of my price range. All volumes have amazing detail but at the same time readable, a great achievement for such complex subject. I only wish a few more maps had been included at moer frequent intervals.

The 5th book in his series on the eastern front air war. Following on in the new style of the 4th book this progresses the time line in to the great battles of Kursk and the Kuban. The lay out, quality and detail are fantastic. And with the planned revamp of vols 1-3 I’m looking forward to the rest of this series of books.
