Simple and nostalgic. The Carrom Nok Hockey is an old school game with new school graphics. No skates required. You may want a helmet as this game can get pretty heated. The solid frame can handle your best slap-shot and all the bragging rights that go along with it.

Short on rules and the playing surface bows
First of all, I love this game.We play it often and I am still the champ! We purchased this as a Christmas present in 2012 and it is still holding out.My only complaints would be that the board is not supported underneath and will eventually bow and the playing surface won't be flat any more. Kind of a bummer but it doesn't seem to affect the game play that much. The sticks are plastic and bend, but not a big deal. Also, we had to make up our own rules a bit to make it fun. Here are our "house rules."1. Tap sticks 3 times at the center of the ice before hitting the puck. - Faceoff.2. Players can each use 2/3 of the gaming surface. (You cannot cross your opponents defensive line with your stick. If the puck is near your opponents goal, behind the last line, it is their puck. It's kinda like a safety zone.)3. A goal occurs if any part of the puck is sticking through the hole. (We slide the stick along the back of the board game and if it nudges the puck, a goal was scored.) This is the only way we count a goal. If a puck is in the red zone but not sticking through the hole, no goal was scored.4. If you hit the puck and it flies off of the board, your opponent gets a free shot. A free shot is taken fromt he middle of the rink (placed in the center circle) and you can only choose to defend one side of your goal. (You either give them a free shot to the right un-defended, or to the left un-defended.)5. Game play is to 7 points.I hope this helps.ps-We purchased some extra sticks and pucks but have not even needed to open that bag and it has been over a year. I would suggest not purchasing extra until you need them.

My boys love this. We tried it at a friends house. It’s so simple but they love it. No assembly required. It seems to be made well enough, meaning it’ll hold up long enough to get my $35 out of it. My boys friends have had theirs for several years. The game itself is simple. I do wish it had a way to keep score though. Overall, well worth the money. It also stores easily.

Boys Entertained for Hours
This is a favorite game at camp, where my boys play for hours on end. In fact, the game is so popular with many of the kids, they have tournaments. Instead of it being a summer treat at camp, I decided to gift it to my boys, and they were beyond thrilled. If your kids like board games, air hockey, etc., this is the purchase for you.

Bottom line - Don’t buy
Hockey game arrived broken in a poorly packed, damaged box (no inside box or padding). Corner connections (staples) were dislodged, so the corners did not stay together, and the sides fell off. The wood (which appeared cheap) was chipped in quite a few places. I bought this item because it was reasonable (you get what you pay for?), but this was not even worth what I paid.

Underwhelming but nostalgic
Overpriced and the larger size is better and provides scoring opportunities that the smaller size doesn't physically make possible.

Put down the media and do some real actuvity.
I played the same game over 30 years ago at a parks and recs program near my home. It was fun then and fun now. Cool to share a childhood memory with my children now. Also it was awesome to learn the company was located in my home state of Michigan too. The game is well built and has taken abuse already and shows no signs of breakage. Hours of fun for everyone. My 3 year old gets involved and even can score goals. A confidence booster for the youngins.

I just ordered and received two of these Nok-Hockey boards. I run a summer camp and have about 30 kids per day, age ranges from 5 to 12 years of age. Within 2 hours of having them BOTH of the blocks in front of the "Goal Zone" broke off on one board and one has broken off on the other. They are held in place with staples and a dab of glue. Not enough to keep them together once the kids start playing. I have since repaired them with wood screws and wood glue and they seem to be holding up MUCH better. Poor workmanship makes this a two star product. I would not recommend this product.

Great gift for kids and adults!
Great gift! Really great price and value. Board has lasted many aggressive games! The only downside is the board slides a lot when played on top of a table, wish it came with anti-slip on the bottom. We ended up attaching some pieces of rubber to stop the sliding. Highly recommend gifting this, so much fun for kids and adults! Side note, packaging was not great, box was ripped upon delivery but thankfully no damage.
