only non aluminum il ever use! scent for all genders!!
have tried... EVERYTHING! including salt&stone &saw someone mention this brand being better. well... it was..."okay". later learned that when making the switch to non aluminum... you have to give it time. like a month, for all the metal to release from the body(swear even MORE) THEN these finally work! & I'm a woman that does NOT LIKE floral&sweet fragrances. not even A LITTLE. I prefer fresh, soapy, laundry like scents, &came across this scent. (deep sea glacier) loooove. it's NOT heavy. alil sticky wen first applied, but give it a few min&its perfection. the scent isn't strong (kinda wish it was) but... it's fresh & light. it's a very zen smell... great for men, woman, &everyone in between! i have native, salt&stone,& about 6 others i tried that i recently threw away, & will now forever only use this one. salt&stone... the WORST btw! HEEEEEAVY. scent is that of an old man living in an attic lol. & applies thick&pasty. so i dnt understand the hypethank god i found this one

Works well, no irritation or overpowering scent.
I wanted something mild without the harsh smell of most deodorant antiperspirants so decided to try this. I was quite impressed with the results, it definitely reduces sweating and didn't irritate my skin at all. I'm not a heavy sweater in general but this was really effective for me. I really hate artificial or chemical scents and this has very little odor at all.Overall I'm very pleasantly surprised and this is now my go to choice.

Not for the super smelly
Pros: unscented really is unscented. Nice pure ingredients. Blocks odor..up to a pointCons: Was good on a day that I did light chores. However a little smelly after a day of hard work. I developed a cyst in my pit after using this, I can't blame the product directly just thought I should mention it. Price can be pretty ridiculousI would get this again for the right price. It's in the rotation for my aluminum free deodorants. Not my favorite, but it's fine. Make sure to use a rock salt based deodorant first if you're going to be sweating, then this over it.

How does this stand against L'Occitane Aluminum Salts Free & Alcohol-Free Eau des Baux
To give background on the scent and deodorant that I like and use. I use to use Denali before they changed it and not the antiperspirant variant. I now use L'Occitane Aluminum Salts Free & Alcohol-Free Eau des Baux. Go there to check out my review of that.I put all of the deodorants, shampoos, and body washes through the same rigorous tests. I run 14 miles 4-5 days a week, swim over 20+ lengths (or laps) in a junior Olympic sized pool 3 times a week, do 2 or 3 intervals in a Sauna for 15 minutes each 5 days a week, and use weights 4 times a week.Saying all of that, this was the hardest product to finish. I try to finish all the products. Let's start with the immediate smell test of Oars+Alps Mandarin Wood. A quick smell of it, leaves me wondering where is the wood smell. It does not smell like wood. The next major issue is that this leaves white streaks galore. I ended up having to wait to put my shirt on to try to prevent this from happening. This was one of the worst deodorants that I've tried for leaving white lines. Oars+Alps Mandarin Wood scent was not long lasting by any stretch and I was continuously putting it on multiple times a day. This was the only good thing, if you want to call it that, for Oars+Alps Mandarin Wood and that me using it so often meant that I was able to get through and finish it pretty quickly. On my buy, borrow, or bury rating scale, for Oars+Alps Mandarin Wood it is a bury. Oars+Alps Mandarin Wood should be buried so not to see the light of day. Do not waste your money on it and stay away. I brought an additional one in case I wanted to review and I will not be reviewing it. Finally, all three different Oars+Alps scents that I bought, none of them came with the plastic protective covering that's on the actual deodorant. I'm talking about the piece that once you remove the lid, you have to remove the plastic cover that's on the deodorant in order to use the deodorant. It's not a major issue but it does give me some peace of mind when I see it.Thanks for reading, please check out my other reviews!

Ok for normal day-to-day, but will let you down when you need it most
When I noticed my aluminum-based Tom's deodorant starting to stain and leave odor in my clothes and give me irritation every so often, I started to look for a natural deodorant. I was reluctant to pay almost 3 times more for deodorant than I'm used to, but considering how infrequently I need to buy it, it seemed like a worthwhile investment if it works.I really wanted to love this product, and in many ways I do. It smells good, causes no irritation of any kind, washes out of my clothes, and on days when I'm relatively sedentary, It works well. I even love the packaging; the color of the container, the cylindrical shape of the stick, the logo. It looks great. However, when this deodorant is put to the test, it fails pretty epically. I expected to sweat more switching away from a strong anti-perspirant and detoxing, but I also expected the odor to be controlled while I was doing so, as Oars + Alps website suggests. While it is ok for days when I am relatively sedentary, in times when it really matters such as big dates, workouts, job interviews, etc, it falls flat on its face. Anything that causes a greater than usual sweat response will just make you smell like BO. Re-application helps, but not for long.I will continue to use this product until the stick is gone. Who knows, maybe once I adapt more to a natural deodorant, it will suffice. But for now I must say it is not worth the price.
