Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 (Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB) - Platinum (Renewed)

Not being paid for this review, didn't receive free anything, and I have plenty of negative reviews if you don't believe it!I had just bought a $899 Lenovo Flex 7i Evo Platform 2-in-1 laptop. I ran across this laptop for $349 or something, and decided to give it a try. While this laptop doesn't have a screen that folds over, it is far lighter, and the i5 processor seems just as fast, for at least what I do (general browsing, amazon, online gambling, email, etc...) I also like the fact that the bottom is solid, and doesn't have slots for the fan that get blocked by your legs. This looks very similar to a macbook air, at a fraction of the price.My unit arrived in bubble pack, and looked brand new except a light scratch on the outside of the lid. Who cares. My unit actually ended up having a slightly faster i5 processor, and had 16gb of RAM instead of just 8. Bonus! Screen is nice and bright and sharp.The keyboard works well, and has backlighting. My only small gripe is that I don't like the layout of the controls on the Fn keys above the numeric keys (mute, brighten screen, volume, keyboard light, etc...) I'll get used to them, but not crazy about the order/placement they put them in.Overall, this laptop is amazing, and far better than my work laptop which is the newest HP with i7 processor. It stays cool for the most part, and rarely do I ever hear a fan kick on. Did I mention it's super thin and light?The lid can be 'tough' to get open 1 handed, but I only care about that b/c I broke my left wrist so I only have 1 hand at the moment, else no big deal!If you're looking for a great, light, sleek all purpose laptop, don't hesitate on this one. If you're looking for a gaming laptop, obviously this isn't what you want at all.As far as battery life goes, with the screen turned up fairly bright and doing general activities like surfing the web, checking out Amazon shopping, email, etc... I can get 4 hours, and I have yet to fully run out of juice. I'll try to run it from fully charged to when it shuts off on its own, and update this post with actual time.

**I am updating my review** I recently purchased the refurbished computer as a present. I really like refurbished items as though something may have been wrong with it, unlike something mass produced on the line; a person actually went in, inspected, repaired and tested the product for resell. This computer was no different and arrived looking almost brand new! The hiccup was that when it arrived it had the wrong charger included. Luckily I have other surface products so I was still able to use and update the laptop no issues. I reached out to the seller and within a day they quickly responded, apologized, and offered a refund amount to purchase a new charger. This is great customer service with a great response time even during this busy holiday season. Bottom line, the computer is great, works fast, has a clean copy of windows 10 installed, and the customer service (of both Amazon and the seller) were superb! I highly recommend this computer and this seller!

Keyboard was not working. touch screen did not work. updates could not be perfomed. many drivers where not installed and could not update, it failed so many times.did not check battery life. but i charged it for about 20 min and it lasted about 12 to 15, but did not charged fully. i did not see the point to do so because it was not working the way it should as per the rest of the issues.I usually don't review purchases because of time. but this one im sad it did not work, because the speed of turning on was great and it seem to be a good computer for what i needed it. will return and buy another model.

Pros:-Cost $168 for an acceptable condition renewed Surface Laptop 2.-Condition was surprisingly good, there two light scuffs on the outside and the screen had a very small scratch or crack on the bottom right which I've shown in the last photo, but the only reason I found it was because I was shining a light on the screen when I was cleaning it. Otherwise it's invisible.-I don't know that I could find this level of quality in a laptop for under $300. It can run 4K YouTube videos without any issues as well as office apps.Cons:-Windows was already setup with a login that didn't have a password rather than starting up with Windows setup process. I did a full reset and then ran virus scan software just to make sure no spyware was installed. Make sure you run Windows reset, don't start using it with a premade login.

I unfortunately had to return this laptop due to the battery life just being okay. It ran windows 11 wonderfully and had an extra 8 gb of ram(16gb in total), which was wonderful. But with a laptop, I don't want it stuck to a charger all of the time. I felt like it only lasted for about 4 to 6 hours of usage and the overall battery health was 75%. But honestly do get it if you are not going to use it for very long periods of time because it's pretty proficient and fast.

I've had this computer for over a year now, and I love it. The keyboard lights up and it has a touch screen that I love more than I thought I would. It's a good size for my backpack and it very quiet, even when charging. I use this for college, and it is fast and able to run everything that I need.

Bought for my son to use at school, it performed well except the WiFi which could not hold steady connection (other devices did ok so it's not an infrastructure issue) it's renewed so it has some dings here and there
