Furniture Rehab Extension Tube Drive Shaft 6 inch Length 5/8" Diameter for Lever Style

I ordered this knowing that this piece was too long for my Lane recliner . My husband was able to cut it and drill the new holes so it would fit. It was still a bit of a struggle to get it inside the recliner tube, but after many hits with a hammer it was able to fit where it needed. This is the second time we've had to replace this part, but the 4.5 in length we need is discontinued. A little WD-40 to the working parts underneath the recliner, and it works better than when it was new.

You may have to shorten the length and re-drill the holes for attaching the handle and hardware. Diameter is correct and that part is important.

This was a perfect fit and with my little drill it went on easily and able to tighten bolts easily. So happy to have recliber and not have to buy a new one...just be sure to measure the piece you're relpacing...i'm 72 so it was easy for me.

This didn't work for me. Mine is a Lane recliner and that may be the problem. To start with my extension tube was only 5½" long, no big deal though. Next was it wouldn't fit, the tubing was too big to slide in. So I grinded it, sanded it, filed it and still too big. Anymore and it would have been paper thin and no good. So I stopped and only then did I notice the holes were all drilled from the same direction. Mine needed to be drilled at 90° each other. Duh! Anyway, I ended with fixing my recliner by ordering some American made 5/8" X 5/8" steel square tubing from MetalsDepot and cutting and drilling to fit. Voila!!! ♫ Happy Tails To Me♫
