Worth a read
I loved this book. Didn't know it at first. Saw the movie and instantly drawn to read this book. And I'm satisfied. Happy ending in such stories are so rare . But this story has it. I love both individuals. Carol a bit more.

Wonderful prose, original story
The story took a while to pick up - the first half of the book dragged a bit but the second half definitely made up for it.

Delicato e discreto
Scrivere un libro del genere alla fine degli anni '40 non deve essere stato facile, tantomeno ottenerne la pubblicazione. Tuttavia i delicati equilibri psicologici delle protagoniste sono narrati con gusto raffinato e lo stesso finale risalta per originalità per il suo spirito positivo.
