I just love working with purple heart. Alot of people dislike it but I have been working with purple heart for awhile and it really brings out a cutting board, or table or whatever else you might be working on! The color is purple as it should be but expect it to fade over time but if you take the right steps you can protect the color some but nothing is forever. Perfect size perfect thickness I will always work with purple heart when I get a chance! All in all, these boards are fine. They are straight and the look is perfect. A lot of the edges were not square. Luckily I have access to a jointer and a table saw so there was no problem. If you are trying to create a board without a table saw, then you would be out of luck.Besid squaring up the edges, the boards are perfect. I don't have a local hardwood dealer, so these are my best option.

I’ve purchased this wood 3 times from this company. It is easy and convenient wood for DIY’ers that do not have proper power tools to mill and plane their own wood. I have found the wood quality, thickness, and planning of the wood to be consistent. Very few of the boards are bowed and even so, they are slightly bowed. I have used this wood for cutting boards both as a long edge and end grain edge and both cuts of wood have held up quite well over the last 3 years
