* I chose to buy a fridge/freezer thermometer because it’s a food safety issue. And I chose this Rubbermaid brand because it’s a longstanding American company, founded in 1920, and is “one of the most recognizable and trusted brands in the industry”. I've other Rubbermaid products that are decades old and still in perfect condition. * No need to recalibrate or install new batteries * Simple is good; and with an NSF rating (indicator of accuracy due to certification by NSF International to meet applicable sanitation & food safety standards), it’s even better. In an experiment comparing the temperature of this thermometer to another, the results were identical! * I was concerned about the face cover being breakable in the event of an accidental drop. Some are glass and they do break, according to some reviews. This Rubbermaid thermometer has a durable and shatter-proof lens, which is typically made of plastic, so no worries. And whether it fogs up when opening the fridge/freezer door is dependent upon the ambient humidity in the room and how much condensation forms from it. * I wondered how readable it was, especially compared to other digital dial types. In comparison to what I'd consider as Rubbermaid’s solid competitor, this model has a face diameter of slightly over 2 inches, and is, in fact, a perfect size for an easy glance, without removing it from the fridge or freezer to read. * Based on my criteria's research results, I determined that this one was the very best choice, and after using it for a month, I've no regrets.

El congelador de mi refrigerador empezó a fallar, la máquina de producir hielo no lo producía y los alimentos no estaban lo suficientemente congelados, puse unas cubetas para hacer hielo y tardaba de dos a tres días que congelara el agua. Definitivamente había un problema, pero quería saber que tan lejos de los menos (-22°C) había en el congelador y poder llamar al técnico de refrigeración para explicarle la situación. El técnico reparó el refrigerador, era problema de insuficiencia de gas refrigerante. A partir de entonces el congelador ha funcionado a la perfección, y lo mantengo permanentemente dentro del congelador. El termómetro tiene en el dial un área de color rojo que me indica rápidamente si la temperatura es adecuada (sea en el área de la nevera o del congelador). Muy buen producto y lo recomiendo para detectar rápidamente si su nevera está enfriando adecuadamente. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.
