How much assembly is required?

Aside from attaching the foot rests, no assembly was required.

I am primarily interested in this chair because of the hand brakes. Someone said that they didn't work on another model. Any comments?

Another handicapped man I know pointed out to me "those are not hand brakes. They are wheel locks." I guess that's true. They don't brake the wheels but actually just lock them.
