Amt 1970 Ford Galaxie police cruiser
Let me just start out by saying, for a pretty much shake it and bake it kit, and one with a low parts count, this one was a beaut to put together! Very simple construction, not a lot of teeny tiny little parts you HAD to put on, loads of extras so you could completely customize it your way, and something beginning modelers could assemble in no time. The kit didn't feel labored, heavy on complicated directions, or painting guides, and everything went together as it should. This kit features an older style promo feel with screw together chassis and body, optional engine blanking plate (if you don't feel like building the engine). Decals included are for a variety of different police departments, or you can make up your own. I decided to do thinqs a little differently with my kit, basing it on the Chicago police department , and making it into a K9 unit. I built the model pretty much as is, but modified it a little as I went along, putting a few dents and dings into the body, replacing the rear windows with mesh screening, and weathering the car for the mean streets of the windy city. I didn't have a lot of issues building the kit, save a minor fit issue with the radio rack and the front dash, I ended up placing the radio speaker on the top dash and running a wire back behind it- I think it adds a little character :) I also dressed up the interior with a few printed out 'police reports' I printed off the internet and placed on the front seat. I wanted to add a dog, but couldn't find one in the right scale for the car. Everything else pretty much fell into place. you Might want to use a few touches of super glue to hold the siren, lights and flasher lights on, as the light bar part is a bit soft, and the mounting holes are a little small. This is easily a kit that could be done in a day. I took a bit longer because of everything I wanted to add. The K9 decal on the roof is NOT in the box, I added that myself with some press on letters. As with all non snap together models, paint and glue are not included.

Best police car kits out there.
I've built four of these so far and fit is excellent and it's easy to put together. Though the detail is a little soft in the engine compartment and interior, the car sits right and looks very realistic. I built this in City of Miami Police livery with decals that do not come with the kit.

Easy to build kit.
This kit started out as a promotional model of a 1970 Ford LTD 4 door hardtop. Then, shortly thereafter, it was an un-assembled kit of the promo, molded in white. Then, it was changed into a 1970 Ford Galaxie 500 4 door sedan police car. I really don't know of any police departments that ran high line Galaxie 500 police cars. They usually ran the bottom line Custom sedans. This is not to say there may not have been some out there, though. The kit has sedan side window posts and vent windows, but the top is incorrect for a sedan as the kit still has the top for the 4 door hardtop. the model also comes with a racing engine only, no stock engine. It also still has the LTD interior. Anyway, I built my kit as a "faux" promo of a Galaxie 500 four door hardtop by removing the side window posts, and added white wall tires from Modelhaus tires. My only complaint is that the vendor sent the model in a mailing bag, and the box was crushed and the model arrived with pushed down windshield posts. I mean, who mails a delicate plastic model kit in a mailer bag? Fortunately, the model is molded in an excellent plastic, and I was able to straighten out the windshield posts without any damage.

Great quality plastic model
Very nice model with good quality parts for a plastic model. I liked that the axels are made of metal versus the plastic in most others. Took me around 9 hours to build start to finish including painting.

Good beginner-intermediate model
Installations were missing any coloring instruction. Installations were confusing as their following steps did not reflect part attachment from previous steps making completion difficult. Product came damaged. Contacted Amazon and was issued a replacement.
