Nice Set, Petite Size, Cute Baby Boomer Finish
Been doing my own acrylics at home for a few years now then moved on to using press on nails as they take less time/allow me to change my style more frequently so I'm quite particular about the quality of press on nails I use. Short summary: a nice set in a cute French ombre colour (aka Baby Boomer style tips), petite sizing, short length and good value. Read on for more details such as sizing, pack contents, pics etc.Contents: Pack had 24 nails in the pack, glue tabs and a file. No prep wipe and no instructions. Not an issue for me as I have many files, am well versed in applying false nails, prep etc but if someone was a first timer then this might be an issue. Quality of the file was terrible as it grates rather than smoothly shears when it files so I recommend using a finer grit file. Would have been a good idea to have glue AND glue tabs in the box giving users an option because if, like me, you want your nails on for at least 10 days then glue is your friend and tabs are no go! Prep wipes tend to be an alcohol wipe for removing excess oils from your nail to make glue adhere better so its not great the pack was missing this. Again, not an issue for me as I have lots of my own glue, files, rubbing alcohol etc but if you want an all inclusive kit then you'll probably be let down as not everything was there that was advertised as being in the box.Sizing - These nails are petite. Usually I buy Kiss nails and file-trim every nail to make them fit better but didn't have to with these. I can get two sets out of this pack and second set I'll have to do a little filing on some nails but not much. The smallest nail is approx 8mm wide and the largest is approx 18mm. Look online for how to size your nails for custom false nails and you'll find plenty guides how to do this. For petite wearers this is a great pack and I like this about the sizing but for a more average size hand you'll likely get only one full set out of this box. Larger nail beds - don't bother. Honestly, these press on's are small. It was also annoying that cause they are so petite and short in length, gripping them to measure them an stick them on was a real chore. They could have done with making them with a holder tab that you can hold on to when glueing them on and twist off afterwards. They are numbered but very faintly so at times it was tricky to see the numbers on the underside but I got there in the end.Length - Short and practical with a square finish.Colour/ Quality of Finish - French ombre style finish which looks really cute, stylish and fabulous! Quality of the polish is just okay. You have to file the little tab bump off the tip that remains on all false nails from the manufacturering and in doing this alone some of the white on the edges came off. This is like, only a two stroke of filing as well so I have put my own gel top coat on to prevent the colour getting scratches/ scoring from daily wear and tear.Thickness of Nails - These are not very thick but cause they are short in length they don't have to be super reinforced. They are quite a flexible plastic so where I have bashed a finger when cleaning or exercising, they bend rather than snap and I've managed to gently bend/hold down the nail to get it's shape back. All in all I give these a 3 out of 5 but I would buy them again. Simply because the negatives I've noted I know I can work around but I think some people would find these too fussy to work with, disappointing or unsuitable.
