Outstanding phone for the price. Works on Cricket.
I'm coming from an LG Stylo 4 which was a good budget phone. But this G8 Plus is a huge improvement. I purchased it at $200, but would satisfied even if it was $300.Battery: Possibly one of the best features of this phone. My Stylo 4 battery life was very good. With the G8 plus, light use I can get through the day and maybe drop to 75%. Honestly, I don't think I've gone below 50% with moderate use during a day. It does have quick charge, but I don't think it has wireless charging.Speaker: Big improvement. Comparable to some cheaper blue tooth speakers. Great for a phone.Speed: very good most of the time (again, huge improvement over my Stylo 4). Probably not as good as your higher end iphones/androids but most will be satisfied.Cell reception: No issues. At least as good as my previous phone on Cricket (uses AT&T towers).WiFi/bluetooth: No connection problems with me.Fingerprint scanner: Gets it right probably 90% of the time. As good or better than other fingerprint phones. I haven't tried the facial recognition method and I'm not really interested it it.Cameras: Lots of features and quality with main camera. Front camera is also decent. This camera was another huge improvement over my Stylo 4. It's probably not as good as some high end phones, but it's not far behind either.Storage: Decent amount of on board storage and can add micro SD card which I did. I've had no issues with my SD card.Screen: Good image quality. The max brightness is a weak point. In very bright locations I can see the screen, but I wish it was brighter. This is a small step down from my Stylo 4.Screen sensitivity: Generally good, but I have a screen protector on it. Sometimes I have to retap but the protector may be a factor. If there is any sensitivity reduction it's small.OS: Currently at Android 9 (as of 2/20/20) even though 10 has been out for several months. Not a big deal for me, but if you have to have the latest OS then stick with Google phones.Overall this is an outstanding phone for the price. I thought it wasn't available in the US. Apparently it is, but not officially so you might not have a warranty. Buying through Amazon effectively gives you a short term warranty via the return window. This phone competes with some $500+ phones. It was a quick transition from my old phone (had function to easily directly transfer data). The phone has other neat quick gesture features to access the flash light and camera in addition to other things.

As always, an awesome VFM product from Motorola
I bought this phone for my wife replacing Samsung Galaxy after using it for about two years. What I was looking for was a large and excellent screen for emailing/web surfing, reading and video calling, above average battery, a good performing chip for light gaming with good sound quality and resolution - all this of course in a well-defined tight budget!I have been using Moto G7 for about two years now and am pretty impressed by its performance including the Camera, speakers, screen, finger print reader and overall responsiveness. I was more than excited to try out another Moto, this time G8 plus for my wife. The 48 MP (Quad pixel - combines four adjacent pixels to make one) rear camera and 25 MP (Quad pixel) front camera does some amazing job for low light shots (picture in red light) as well as focusing on poorly lighted near objects (Christmas tree pic). The group selfie mode is also super fun. However, the phone has other more useful features that my wife now appreciates. The battery is really good and routinely covers 48 hours without recharge. With the Turbo charger and type-c charging cable (provided) of this phone, the battery charging is real quick within 20 minutes! The type-C data connector (cable not provided) makes the data transfer a breeze. The 6.3 inch large screen is super comfy for e-mailing, reading and web-surfing. Its vivid colors, and never-lagging chip makes the routine game playing and video watching experience amazing. The sound quality complements the screen and chip performance doubly. Finger scan and face recognition works reliably - almost over 90% times. Face recognition factors in glasses while wet fingers would never be accepted. All in all, a great value for money (under 200 bucks). Few things that could be better are: a bit heavy phone, not so comfortable to click selfies with one hand, difficult to use rear camera without two hands, cannot use two SIM cards with a memory card (a common slot for second SIM and memory card).
