Great for men with curly hair
Being a man with curly hair can be tricky. Leave it alone and it is a frizzy mess. Apply most hair products and it is a crispy, crunchy, mess that a hurricane could not budge. No one want to run their fingers through a porcupine. On the other side, weak, stay-in conditioners (and similar product) can't control the stubborn mop that lives atop my head for more than a few hours. I made a deal with my hair many years ago - stick around and I will try to let you do your own thing, but you can't just go crazy because I don't want to look like Eraserhead. It's just not cool. I am not Tom Waits. I have a job that requires a tie and an air of professionalism. I am not attractive enough to have completely unruly hair and get away with it, but I have learned that trying to control my hair by sheer force is a losing battle. In comes this stuff. It has some oil that is apparently good for your hair. I have to be honest, I'm just trusting them on that claim because I don't want to do the research to confirm or refute that assertion. What I can tell you is that regardless of the ambient humidity (and those of us with curly hair understand what a powerful factor that is), you can put this in while your hair is wet (or dry) and it will hold the curl all day without getting frizzy or crunchy, remain soft to the touch, and rinses out easily. It doesn't collect in little gross collections of product that you find later and fear that someone might have thought you had bird poop in your hair. It doesn't dry out and create "product dandruff" that drops on your shoulders. It doesn't smell much and the smell is not unpleasant (non-existent once dry). It is a very soft hold, but it holds. It works. I don't have to think about it and that, to me, is highly valuable.I just wrote a lot about a hair product and I am a male. That alone should tell you something.TLDR: It's pretty good if you are a man with curly hair. The best I have found so far (and I've been fighting with my hair for 30 years - I'm older than 30, but I didn't care about my hair when I was a kid. Thank god).

In. The. Rain. No. Frizz. SRSLY!
Good stuff! I went out in the rain and I didn't frizz up.Wait. One more time.I went out. In the rain. And I didn't frizz up.Can we take a moment to appreciate how awesome that is?'Kay now. It's a fairly large bottle, well packaged so it arrived intact without leaking, with a cap, seal, and the pump on the side for manual insertion upon arrival. I had to mess with the pump a little bit to get it to open - apparently it likes four letter words as a password. My hair is waist length when wet, and shorter by whatever amount it feels like that day when dry and curly. I started with 2 squirts, but it left my hair a little crunchy in spots when it was overapplied. One squirt is enough to do the trick - no frizz, no crunch, and nicely defined curls. I applied to damp hair after a shower and let it air dry with just a quick comb out, no further styling. The bottle's pretty large, so one squirt a day should last quite a while.I purchased due to the good reviews and the no animal testing question that was answered; I prefer products not tested on animals where possible. I'm not thrilled with the made in China aspect, but the product works well.

No-Crunch Curls and Greatly Reduced Frizz
I bought this in February 2017, and actually bought the non-gel version in September 2016. That was the beginning of my curly hair journey, and I had little knowledge of how to treat curly hair. I used this after shampooing, did my usual thing, and was disappointed in this product. I put it, and the other curl cream, in the back of the closet. A year later, I have since learned a method of handling my hair called "squish to condish" (you'll have to Google it) and that really helped my hair look so much better, along with other things like co-washing, not using towels on hair, etc. About a week ago, I found this in my closet and decided to give it another go. I washed my hair using a co-wash, applied a leave-in conditioner, and did my usual "squish to condish" method. Then I used this cream gel, applying enough to coat my hands, and scrunched it into my hair, making sure not to miss any sections. I then lightly smoothed a small amount of the gel over the sides of my head where I tend to get most of my frizz. Then I let my hair air-dry, and the results were really good. Minimal frizz, and no crunchiness like I would get with other gels. The next day I was surprised to see my hair hadn't frizzed up too much. All I did was dampen my hair with water on my hands, and then smoothed the cream (the bottle I got in September) over my hair, gently gliding it along. Then I scrunched again, adding more here and there where needed, and my hair looked good again. Usually by the time it dries, it looks frizzy again, but it didn't. So I will continue using this, which will be for quite a while, considering how large the bottle is!

Amazing!!
I have naturally curly hair and I usually straighten it daily. Straightening is obviously not good for it as it burns the hair and dries it out. Well.. I found an amazing new curly hair product that nourishes and keeps the frizz low! Living in TX we have a super high humidity level at all times, so frizz is part of life here. Royal Locks Curl Care Cream left my curls beautifully defined and they aren’t frizzy at all! I’ve even slept on it and my curls are still soft and defined. Plus it smells so good! This is a great curl cream and a little goes a long way! I will definitely be leaving my hair naturally curly more often with this awesome product in my cabinet!

They changed the formula and it is not as good as before
I have been a long term user for this product and I appreciate it brought nice and soft look to my hair. However, it seemed starting from 2 years ago, it had changed its formula, adding scent into it and it feels like strong artificial smell, uncomfortable, I have to wait for a while to be able to go out after putting on this product. At the past, it had no smell at all which was something I liked. The second change is the gel is not as thick as before, and of course the bottle also become smaller as well. Honestly, I prefer they raise the price rather than changed the formula.
