I have been using this item from this manufacturer for years. I find it the easiest and most effective way of determining whether plants have an early infestation with spider mite or mealy bug (before it becomes obvious to the naked eye). Now, a several-year-old model whose batteries had died has been resurrected with the new availability of inexpensive LR927 button batteries. It is working like a new purchase. Another model that had been left out in the rain, ignored, for years still offers fine clear magnification … but its electrodes have corroded. New batteries, not surprisingly, do not relight the long-dead LEDs. So, take care of your purchase (something I had not always done) and it will last for many years.

This is an update. The first few days I had it the words are upside down and backward when you look through but after it setting for 2 weeks that has corrected it self. I know this sounds weird but I tried it several times and it was not correct, then I tried it again after 2 weeks and I am able to read with my eye that the eye doctor damaged the macular. I like the light it help.

i love this magnifying glass. i use it 5 days a week just for funny small things,hey i could see this better with my lighted magnifying glass! its cool and it was super cheap, a better buy than going to hobby lobby to get one.
