These are a dozen foam masks, in numerous animal shapes. I don't know yet how they will hold up, but they are definitely cute. For the price, I wasn't expecting anything more. If you wanted to upgrade, I would go to the washable masks. But just for a playtime, these are great.My kids (2 and 4) are a little young for them, as they get frustrated with things on their face and the eye holes aren't that large. But they put them on their forehead and run around with them on. They aren't the highest quality, but for the price and what they are intended for, they will do well.They are probably something you could make at home, but it would take (me, anyway) a long time and wouldn't really be worth the effort, when I can buy they for cheap here.-----Update: the pieces on the mask are definitely falling off. Whatever glue was used is not the best. I've been using the glue gun to put them back together. Still decent for the price, but my rating does go down by one star.Update 2 (June 2012): they are pretty much unusable after a few months, as the peices keep falling off, though you can glue them back on easily. Many of the pieces got lost along the way. They still don't fit their face well. Also, while mine (in 2010) came with one of each design, many since then don't arrive that way - they have multiples of the same design. So they must have updated orders since I purchased. I don't think I would buy again.

We purchased these masks as a gift for our nieces, who are 3 and 18 mos, and they LOVED them! Honestly, we ALL loved them, and had a riot playing Zoo with the girls -- running about making loud and obnoxious animal noises while wearing an animal mask really takes you back to your own childhood.My sister's giraffe noises sounded much like you would imagine a rabid goat might, my husband nearly scared the wits out of the baby with his ridiculously loud lion's roar, and we had to remind my other sister and her husband that not only were these masks for the *children*, but that a raccoon and a bear would probably never get together anyway, but we had a lot of fun being silly and my nieces learned a lot of new noises to make.The foam on the masks was very durable; even when a three year old stabbed the cow mask repeatedly with a fork, creating a few more air holes, it didn't fall apart. The elastic band on each mask is easily adjustable and we had no issues with any part of the masks breaking or falling off. All of the animals shown were in the package that we received.Recommended!

I read many reviews, some were satisfied some were not, it is clearly written that the photo is AN EXAMPLE of the masks you may receive, so I went ahead and FIRST emailed the different sellers of these masks to make sure I get exactly what is on that photo (all 12 different animals), and made my order.. Very happy, my 2 year old loved them all, they will be favors for his little buddies (animal theme)!!! They are not very durable, but great for photos and for the 5$ price they are asking for them.. Adults can wear them too.. Im happy to see that they are half masks so they don't cover the nose, which is good for kids! 3 year olds may enjoy them even more ... i think...

What a silly, fun, cheap thing to have in a pre-k classroom setting or playroom. For kids who like to "pretend play" animals this is such a nice item to have available to extend the play and imagination. Use them to talk about "w" questions; what animals are they?, what sounds do they make?, what do they eat?, where do they live? etc... No, they aren't made that great and the elastic band that goes around the head will eventually snap and you'll have to fix it with a stapler or duct tape, but that's not the point.They're fodder for imaginative play, and great gender-neutral fodder at that. Now go put on lion mask, get on all fours and let your little one ride the "lion" around the TV room...

It is amazing watching a group of kids play with masks like this. These were bought as inexpensive party favors that the kids could take with them. We put them on the table outside and the kids pounced on them. They would pretend to be one animal for a little while, then switch masks with another one and play for a while more. These masks kept 10 kids occupied and having fun for hours!They are made from pieces of foam that are glued together. They are not very durable, and a few started falling apart after a little bit of use. But they are not meant to be anything more than inexpensive toys to keep children entertained for a little while.I recommend these masks. They certainly made my son's party more fun.

My three-year-old stepson really likes to dress up and pretend he's all kinds of animals, so those masks are perfect for him. He's able to put them on himself and the eye holes seem to be reasonably big and lined up with his eyes. The rubber band and the holes it goes through seem to hold up pretty well and you can open the knot and retie it to make it tighter. The masks themselves are made from this foam stuff that doesn't seem to rip easily and the animals are easily recognizable and look cute. Definitely a good purchase and I would buy again.

I ordered these for the kids at my son's 1st birthday party, with a Noah's Ark theme (animal-themed stuff is certainly versatile!). They arrived quickly, and are pretty much what I expected. As shown. My one small complaint is that I had to re-glue a few pieces with a glue stick, just to be certain they wouldn't fall off easily, but it was only a few bits and they may have been fine even without that extra measure. They're pretty sturdy, as low-cost kids party favors go, made of thin but tough and soft foam, highly flexible, with a thin elastic cord.

I've read other reviews that indicate there wasn't much of a variety; that wasn't the case with mine. I ordered 2 packs of these, and both packs had 12 separate animals. I got them for 3 and 4 year olds. They loved them!!!! There was a couple that had some of the smaller pieces fall off, but it's easily glued back on. I would order these again. Fun for Littles, and a decent price for what you get!

We did not receive all the various masks as shown. We only received 4 different types. Had hoped for more variety as shown in the picture.

The quality Is good. But the lion is missing instead I got a lady bird and a cat :(So I was a lil disappointed but the rest of the animals are cool !!!
