Awesome Spin Bike
The JLL IC400 Pro Indoor Exercise Bike is basically a manually operated spin bike, it is not a Watt Bike or similar but a spin bike. This bike was an addition to our "HOME" Gym and is not a commercial gym item. Home is in quotes as a few friends train with me (when Covid allows), which compliments the weights, rower, boxing and other items. We train for cross fit, cycling, running and general fitness.A spin bike is generally used to improve and/or maintain Cardio fitness and this it does very well.Having owned the bike for a number of weeks and used intensively this is my review:The JLL IC400 Pro is well made, a quality item and looks good.It takes some putting together as it comes in two boxes and two people doing this is better than one. There are various videos available from JLL/you tube which makes this easy, it's certainly not hard to put together and we had this done very quickly, albeit a bit of rubber trimming was needed to fit the monitor and the brackets needed easing upwards to fit it but no real issues.Once assembled we tested it out on the easy setting and gradually increased the control knob to the harder setting - you won't be pedaling much at this level as with a 22kg flywheel it was a tough job to spin the wheel. The bike has a very large range of adjustment in exactly the same way as a normal bike can be adjusted, ie saddle height and angle, handlebar height, distance from saddle to handlebars, ect, you get the picture.Once the base set up is done the adjustment between riders is very quick to achieve with it only taking a matter of seconds to change the seat height, by pulling out the locking knob which conveniently locates in to one of the holes in the seat post and either raising or dropping the seat post. For our needs this is really all we change as we range from 5' 8" to 6'4" in height. All our changes are fast on the fly swap overs and this never presents an issue. The seat post even has numbered holes to quickly get the right height. The seat comes with a padded gel cover but we have not needed to use this as the seat itself is very comfortable. The key thing with a spin bike is the weight of the flywheel and at 22kg this bike is very hard to beat. Most bikes I looked at had flywheels far less than this and would suit a beginner but maybe not a more advanced Gym person, this bike is definitely made for EVERYONE - beginner to advanced. This is a direct belt driven exercise belt and consequently needs little adjustment and runs quietly, it has an adjustable magnetic resistance system that is so easy to use, turning the control knob to + or - increases or decreases the effort required to spin the flywheel. One thing to note is that as this is a spin bike you cannot freewheel the bike / pedals so you need to keep pedaling all the time (but you ARE working out after all). On changeovers (when we swap rider quickly) the pedals would still spin, we've now worked out that if you press the control knob down and hold it down it brings the flywheel (and pedals) to a stop and makes this much safer! It does say in the manual that this is an emergency stop but for whatever reason we didn't associate this with our changeovers! The bike is really well made and very sturdy in use, even when up out of the saddle and pedaling for all our worth it has not faltered or indicated any wobble of sorts which instills confidence to go faster / ride harder. It has a maximum user weight of 150kg and that really is a massive limit, our maximum is just under 100kg and at 6'4" he still feels very secure and comfortable on the bike. The pedals have the option of SPD trainers of toe straps - we generally tend to use the toe straps slightly loose as we change over regularly and this aids the quickness of swap overs. This does not affect our correct pedaling capability (ie don't stomp the pedals but push and pull).Made of stainless steel and weighing in around 60kg it definitely appears to be bomb proof if used correctly and normally. We have spent many hours in the saddle and the bike looks and works as good as it did when first assembled. In summary the bike is well made, good to look at, works just as it should and will last for many high intensity sessions for years to come with just a bit of regular maintenance and care. The monitor is not as bright or as clear to use as I would have liked and at times can be confusing to set up. It appears the distance is in miles and we work in KM, not sure if it is possible to change. We also use the calorie function. I'm sure if I took a bit more time and went through the manual and played with the monitor more it would be easier to understand but I never seem to have the time....I have however, loaded up the I-console APP on my phone and we use this if recording distance in KM's. This is quite a cool APP if you want to cycle a route to help your training as you can download a location and cycle from there around the local area etc using a map system although you will need to manually adjust the resistance to represent hills, flats and downhills, I've done this for short sessions and it's quite fun and works well but it's not what I bought the bike for which is full on explosive effort for short sessions during a training WOD using either a calorie or distance setting. It has been a great purchase and addition to our Gym and so much less expensive than some other models out there with comparable specification, would definitely recommend buying if you're thinking of it.Ray

Good but not spin studio equivalent; arrived slightly damaged
This should be very good for a good workout, but it is not on par with replicating a spin studio experience due to the odd resistance (details below).Pros:- bike is sturdy and relatively easy to assemble, and looks quite professional- no wobbles- runs smoothly, no sound- will give you a good workout- good deliveryCons:- Resistance is odd, and not like in spin studio bikes. The default low resistance still feels like it is NOT "no resistance" - i.e. the lowest setting is *not* equivalent to e.g. indoor spin classes telling you "take all your resistance off", it still feels like you have some resistance on. So it is more tiring than should be at low resistance, can strain your knees. Equally, at high resistance you can still pedal, so it is not as high resistance as spin studio bikes.- the flywheel does not stop instantly when you press the "stop" button - need to be careful as pedals still spin. Makes it harder to get off the bike quickly.- it arrived damaged, one of the front wheels for moving was broken in two pieces, so I will need that replaced. I raised this to the seller and received a replacement wheel and a small purchase discount.- I am 170cm and the saddle height is just about right for me - there should be at least one more setting at lower height. Would not be great for shorter people. Handle bars could also be closer.- securing the handlebars to the position nearest to the saddle is quite difficult, due to the long handle of the screw with which you need to do it, which you can't rotate past the bar supporting the handle bars. That was the most frustrating and near impossible part of the assembly. That bit is poorly designed.

Fantastic bike, shame about the delivery.
Due to lockdown I bought this bike to stay fit. I did my research and decided on this bike because of the heavy flywheel. It took a while to arrive, but it was expected from the beginning due to the good communication from JLL. Worth the wait. When it arrived it was easy to put together, but you should be aware the design is a little different from the one shown in the photos on Amazon, in that the seat post is different from the one advertised. It is the one from the IC400 Elite bike. Not that it makes much difference. It is heavy and sturdy once you tighten down all the adjustable knobs. The cables are only just long enough when connecting up the console, but I suppose that does make for better cable management.Once riding you need to find your comfortable riding position, and thankfully JLL has a video that explains this.It is smooth peddling, even the flywheel on its own provides good resistance, but increase the magnetic resistance and you will definitely feel it.Now the bad. The iConsole app which the console uses to connect to your phone is a little glitchy. It kept ending my workout before I had really finished. I am not sure why. The colour scheme is bad, black writing on a dark grey background is impossible to read sometimes. It drops connections with bluetooth heart rate monitor. These are bugs I hope they can sort with updates. The Heart Rate Monitor, SPD pedals and water bottle are really nice additions.Delivery - my bike was delivered by XDP. To say their services was shocking is an understatement. The bike weighs 59 kg. Given the size of the box and the weight, it should have taken two people to safely carry it, however the driver told me to roll the box in order to move it, which is what they had done evidently, because the carton was broken, crushed and punctured in places. Thankfully the bike was well packaged and undamaged. The fibreboard which was used to protect the handlebar stem was smashed to bits though. I asked about the second box, which contained the seat post and handlebars and post. The driver was clambering over and standing on packages clearly marked fragile. I am glad I wasn't going to be a customer opening those packages. The bike is great, really well constructed and a good value for money item. I would recommend this to everyone.
