2g, 1/2”-3/4” Stainless Steel Segment Ring Segment rings are a great alternative to classic captive rings. These 2g (6.0mm) segment rings are available in 1/2” (13mm), 5/8” (16mm) or 3/4” (19mm) diameters. Each ring is crafted of 316L ASTM F-138 Implant Grade Stainless Steel that has been polished to a superior high shine. Please note: You will need tools to remove and replace the segment. In order to take the segment out, use these 8" Ring Opening Pliers to open the segment slightly, put the segment ring into your piercing and re-insert the segment back into place. The segment ring will form back to its original shape once the ring opening pliers are removed. Specifications: Gauge: 2g (6.0mm) Diameter: 1/2” (13mm), 5/8” (16mm) or 3/4” (19mm) Material: 316L ASTM F-138 Implant Grade Stainless Steel Tools needed to remove and replace the segment Priced per 1

Almost impossible to open
I had these for a couple of months before I could get them open. I ordered the largest opening pliers they make (8"), and I still couldn't get them to open (and I have the huge forearms of a percussionist). What I eventually did to solve the issue was to purchase a couple of 12" long 3/4" diameter steel pipes to slip over the grips, which gave me enough leverage to barely pop in and out the removable portion of the ring. So add another $15 for the large pliers and another $15 for the pipes to the cost of these, and even then, you'll want at least 2 strong hands (an assistant really helps) every time you need to open them.

UNLESS YOU WANNA USE TOOLS TO PUT ONE IN DO NOT BUY
Heavy, 100% need a tool to open and then try to close. After I finally got mine opened it would latch back. Seemed like you basically had to break it to get it opened.I’m sure they’re perfect for the person that has the proper tool and wants to leave them in long term. They are very heavy duty.

Stuck, even with large gauge ring opening pliers.
Bought two both were so tightly stuck they bent ring opening pliers for this same size. Won't open at all just a little play in the segment.

DO NOT BUY
This took ages to arrive and when it did, it didnt open at all with even my largest ring opening pliers until something literally snapped and deformed the ring. Now the segment will not fit back into it and it seems like the tolerances of this ring are so tight that inserting or removing it from a piercing would be an extreme hazard.
