It's Pataks Vindaloo Paste with a slight name change...
Since the 90's I had been making Vindaloo's using Pataks Vindaloo paste as there was nothing else to beat it, The about 10 years ago it became impossible to buy in the shops. Nowhere seemed to stock it any more (Asda, Tesco, Morrisons etc...) and no one could say why they didn't stock it, heck I even tried to contact Pataks themselves to ask why but I never got an answer...So after a decade (or more) of no home made Vindaloo's I was delighted to discover here on Amazon and Saras Foods to find "Pataks Vindaloo Spice Paste", so I ordered a few jars taking the chance that it might just well be the good old original "Vindaloo paste"... and whadaya know... it is... :-)It's the exact same ingredients as the original "Vindaloo Paste" and of course the exact same wonderful taste that I loved so much... :-)Delivery was very fast ( a couple of days), very well and safely packaged and with use by dates of almost 3 years on each jar (2023 bought July 2020). So I've stockpiled the stuff just in case it disappears again...Never thought after all these years I'd get to make and taste my favourite Vindaloo ever again but happily I can and am back to having the best Vindaloo 3 nights a week once more, so at least one thing turned out well in 2020... :-)Cheers and thank you to Saras Foods UK, you've just made an old curryhead very, very happy indeed... :-)

The best curry pastes ever!!
This really is yummy stuff!! Since I no longer live in the UK, I really miss this stuff, so very glad to see that you can get it on amazon, as it's not so easy to find everywhere. As it's a heavy item, it's a bit expensive to ship overseas, but they do a good job of packing it well in bubble wrap so that the glass jars don't break during transit. I've found this multi[pack version to be by far the most economical way to get these than getting them in the single packs. These taste great on its won, and while hot enough for most people, I often add some chilli extract to the recipe for myself, as I'm a bit of a chilli-head that has to have it as hot as possible. But it works really well, and it's fantastic for whenever I make a spicy chilli chips and cheese wrapped up in a pita, aswell as using it as a curry in the traditional sense. The Pataks ones are by far the tastiest that you can get for making your own curry. Both the the Vindaloo flavor and the Rogan Josh flavor of these are by far my favorites that they do, and they make an excellent curry every single time! Even just thinking about it makes me hungry! num num num num....

Perfect in all respects
Nothing to dislike! Used this paste for years. It makes an authentic vindaloo curry.

very. concentrated.
Of all the brands of pastes and powders PATAKS is our favourite. They are very concentrated and are measured out by the dessertspoonful not by the jar. Therefore they are very economical and the wide choice of flavours offered actually do taste different!

Great price for an old favourite
I've been using Pataks curry pastes for well over 20 years and they never fail to satisfy. A couple of the recipes have changed slightly over the years but if you want to make an authentic tasting Indian dish at home you can't go wrong with Pataks. You can use them as instructed on the jar or experiment by using these as a base and creating your own unique dishes. I've found that using 3 parts Rogan Josh to 2 parts Korma paste gives a wonderful flavour that isn't too hot nor too Korma(ish)!
