Q: Can you use this product to cover cables running along the floor? We have a telephone cable pinned and would like to cover with wood effect trunking

No l do not believe it would as there will not be enough room on the underside for cables. I would search for specific trims that would cover cable or the floor one that goes from one height of floor to another which may have room for cables as it is more lifted and shaped. Or settle for black white or grey cable rubbers for the floor

Q: Will this be suitable between laminate and carpet? How does it stay in position? Does it not just squish with the carpet? Thanks

I use this transition strip between laminate and tiles and it works very well. There are two pre-glued strips that are very effective. However, I doubt that it would work as well with carpet. I think that , though it would be stuck in place, it would probably just sit on top of the carpet. it might be OK on a very short pile carpet. Maybe best to ask the supplier/manufacturer?

Q: Would this be suitable for tile to laminate where there is a difference in height of 3 or 4 mm?

I have used this between porch and lounge. Laminate to Karndean with a height difference. I would give it a try . Hope this helps
