Easy setup, great quality picture/audio
I love my new HAUPPAUGE 1682 WinTV-quadHD Tuner. I’ve had it now for about 2 months. I’ve had HAUPPAUGE tuners in the past but they were internally mounted single station tuners. This new quad tuner allows me to effortlessly record multiple stations at the same time. Station setup is simple. The only drawback to the system I see is in the accuracy of the EPG (electronic program guide) but I have work arounds for that. Picture and audio quality are excellent, better than I expected but nothing less than I’ve received from HAUPPAUGE in the past. I highly recommend this product for anyone that spends a lot of time at the computer and wants to stay current with what’s going on in the outside world.

Good Tuner for Plex DVR
Bought this to use with as a tuner for the Plex DVR feature and so far its been working great. There is some additional setup needed to run this under Linux however. Links are not allowed in reviews to instructions are as complete as Amazon allows. If you are using Ubuntu, or an Ubuntu based distro, you just have to follow the instructions on the Hauppauge support page titled: "Running WinTV TV tuners and HD PVR 2 under Linux"If you are an Arch Linux user there is a full package in the AUR called "linux-firmware-hauppauge" that will install the needed additional firmware file.If you are a different distro of Linux then you will need to find and download a copy of "linux-firmware-hauppauge_0.1.8+focal.tar.gz", extract the archive, and then copy all the .fw files from the archive directory "install/0/" to the system directory "/usr/lib/firmware/" and then either reset either the system or device.

It Works With My Ancient Beyond TV Software
I built my own PVR many (many!) years ago and started out using Beyond TV (from Snapstream) software and their EPG along with various tuners. Until a week ago I was using a dual tuner Hauppauge board internal to my computer and two DVICO Fusion HDTV USB tuners. The Hauppauge internal tuner board failed and the DVICOs have been a bit glitchy and a PITA so I looked around for a better solution. This 4 tuner USB device sounded like a good way to go. I hooked it up to a USB 3.0 port and my antenna up in the attic of my house and tried to get it to work. It wasn't pretty. I just wanted the driver to load and not all the extra WinTV software. I could not get the new 4 tuner box to work. I finally decided to load all the WinTV software and go through the registration and start up process (that's where the installation process asks for the activation code). Once I entered the activation code the hardware came to life. I was able to ignore the WinTV software and I fired up the Beyond TV setting software and told it about the 4 new tuners available, one by one. Each tuned loaded correctly and did its channel scan thing. Once all 4 were set up I started Beyond TV and everything worked perfectly. I've been using the new system for almost a week now and have not had a single glitch. The image and audio quality are perfect, as far as I can tell. Hopefully, Hauppauge is passing the demodulated signal straight through to the hard drive with no compression or other modifications (as they should). The Snapstream Beyond TV EPG is working well and Beyond TV is controlling the tuners. I love this new 4 tuner box. I just wish the installation had been a bit easier and not require jumping through hoops to get the activation code. All I really wanted was the hardware and I didn't need the WinTV software. Unfortunately, Beyond TV is no longer made or supported so new PVR builders will have to come up with a different software solution. Perhaps the Hauppauge WinTV is the answer but I can't comment on that because I'm not using it. All I can evaluate is the 4 tuner hardware and I can say that once installed it works great.

This one is going back
Slow, slow ,slow. Very poor picture and audio qualities. Description promised a credit card size remote. What I got was larger than any other remotes I have in my house. No truth in advertisement. Wish they had option to give this $109 paper weight less than one star.
