This stuff saved my bacon, I needed a high temperature sealant. It’s been on the fireplace for six months and it’s holding strong. Make sure you knead the tube well before use, it tends to separate.

I needed this stuff to seal a new rope onto the door of my CB 6048. It's cheap and seems to hold very well.

Pretty easy to use, keep a rag handy. Clean the surface well and it should work fine. Mine has held up fine so far.

This stuff seals really good it spot that do t get really hot

2-14-13. I'm giving this 5-stars on initial review. We shall see over time how well it works. Product is a very liquid black silicate adhesive. Use care when applying as it tends to be runny and drips. If you spill it one anything, as I did on the nice fireplace carpet, it cleans up easily with soap and warm water when still wet. I actually used Mr.Clean multi-surface cleaner and it worked well to remove the black adhesive from a colored carpet onto which the glue dripped. It comes off your hands easily. So far, it's good. 2-18-13. I used MEECO'S RED DEVIL 110 Gasket Cement and Stove Sealer to reattach loose gasketing on my Fireplace insert and it worked well.

Here I go again experimenting with a new product and a DIY rebuild without the foggiest clue what I am doing..... I used this to rebuild an old parlor stove made in the 20's. The parlor stove was in excellent condition but as I disassembled it for a review of the safety ,design, and component integrity I noticed no trace of sealants or caulks or asbestos to seal the small exposed seams of the fire barrel. So I read around and found nothing but this to use. In the end It seemed to do the job. Pros: The only one I could find with a high temp rating One tube did the whole job Cons: Super runny- so runny that I went over each seam after it had dried with more because I was afraid it would leak out of the seam I had to put it on and let it almost set before assembly- this was a sticky mess Off gassing the most noxious fumes ever. Hours and hours of bake off time before it stopped off gassing seriously noxious fumes
