Great Ceiling Fan and Easy to Install
We bought two of these fans to replace two old ceiling fans that were smaller and just white. We wanted something that would add more of a wood ton to the living space, and this foot the bill.First, the product came promptly and the seller had great follow up on our questions. As we were replacing existing fans, we did not have to increase the ceiling support for them. This made it easier for us. The way this model connects to the ceiling is a real plus over other ceiling fans I have worked with. A special not about how they thought out not only how it hangs from the ceiling it is also worth noting that the mounting bracket is designed to allow you to slip in the remote control receiver that the fan comes with. This is a real plus in that (1) we did not have to purchase the remote control switch separately and (2) we did not have to figure out how to cram the remote receiver into the ceiling mount area. Two cons in my mind:(1) it comes with two mounting downrods, a 2 inch one and a 3 inch one, huh! I wrote the company that it would make more sense to have a long one, which we did need, instead of these two short ones. They wrote back that you have to purchase them separately and it is too costly for them to have various long ones in the package. We round up purchase two 12 inch ones from a local lighting store. I mention this as the photo of the fan and on the box make it look like it comes with a longer downrod.(2) as this package is without a light, the remote it comes with is made for controlling the fan and the potential light for the future. I agree that it makes sense for them to provide a more generic remote for potential future lighting, however, we now have a confusing wall remote which has fan and lighting control on it. Just a nit of a complaint, but if you purchase this fan you will see what I meant.I did not consider these two items enough to not give them a five star rating. The fan is pretty much what they describe. I especially like that the fan blades are made out of wood, and do appear to be hand carved as each blade is just slightly different (really very minor differences) making for a nice overall wood appearance to the ceiling fan. The brushed finish also adds to the more natural look of the fan.Yes this is an expensive ceiling fan, however, you can really see the difference once you compare it to others that are on the market. The fan is super quiet, well constructed, and as I previously stated, the mounting hardware is very well thought out.I will say that the instructions are not as clear as the could be. One example is these fan blade bushings you have to put onto each blade, three for each blade. The instructions show a different shaped one, and you have to figure out what part of the bushing goes on which side of the blade. Plus the instructions say that to save time have someone else help you by having them put the bushings onto each blade for you. At first I thought this was a joke, as to give someone a simple task to keep them busy, but as it turns out it took me a half hour per ceiling fan to get these bushings inserted into each blade. They do not go in easily, I suggest that you use a pointy nosed pair of pliers to pull them gently through the blade mounding holes, they do not just push through. Also, for this ceiling fan, once the busing is installed, the fatter part of the busing should be in the recessed hole, and the thinner part should be resting on the downward facing part (part you see when looking up at the fan on the ceiling). Hope this helps someone when putting this fan together. All in all, this is an excellent product, just leave time to put it together and mount as with any other ceiling fan.

It's a beautiful fan and we'd really missed our old Casablanca fan.
This fan is in a great room with vaulted ceilings and replaces the Casablanca workhorse that's been used for years. The fan makes a huge difference in keeping the room cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

not whisper quiet
not whisper quiet makes a fairly loud motor noise especially when its quiet in the bedroom, Thought spending this much money for a fan would insure that it would be quiet!

Hey, it's a Casablanca and it met my high expectations
Beautiful and quiet with a very well designed remote that fits into standard electrical box. I run the fan continuously in summer months with no problem.

Nice fan, excellent remote control
As usual a good fan which moves the air well and effortlessly. Remote control is small and works perfectly. Great for bedroom where you can adjust the speed or turn the fan on and off. Price is too high. But there have been deals on Warehouse Deals from time to time.

Love the fan and the look BUT
Ordered and installed fan in March 2016. Love the fan and the look BUT, the receiver/remote is a total flop. Receiver never worked correctly to begin with, so I had Casablanca ship me a new one at no charge to me. This second receiver failed after one day. After contacting Casablanca customer support, I was told I needed to uninstall the entire fan and drop it off at a repair shop for troubleshooting.....Not gonna happen. I just went back on to Amazon and purchased a universal receiver/remote, installed it, and now the fan works perfectly. Beware the fatal flaw in the receiver. I would be a little happier if Casablanca reimbursed me for the new remote but I'm not holding my breath. If I could leave a negative star rating I would.
