The book is packed and mean packed with helpful information and exercises. A great gift for friend or loved one. Every office should give a copy to their employees. Watch productivity increase with less down time at the script doc's office. Review: Excellent Book For Understanding An Unfamiliar Muscle - I found this book to have great information on the Psoas muscle. I've been practicing yoga for close to a year now and had problems with forward bends, having to bend my knees. I didn't have pain in my hamstrings so I began to explore if there was a deeper issue of an unworked/lazy Psoas. By adopting these exercises/poses as well as attending a specialized yoga core class that works to access the psoas, I find I can straighten my knees after 2 months of work! I have also found my overall core strength has improved as well as my posture. At a minimum, this is a good book to help understand exactly what the function ot the Psoas is in relation to the other muscles in the core region.

Exercises I can use in a language I can understand
This is an excellent book! Free of medical insider language, it explains what the psoas muscle does, how it affects so much of the body, and what we can do to improve and strengthen it. Best of all, the book shows lots of exercises for the beginner to advanced, to improve different specific conditions. And it really helps! I borrowed it from my acupuncture / massage professional, and then bought it the next day, so I could flag what to put into my daily routine. I've recommended it to older friends, who've found it helpful for flexibility, strength, and balance. The illustrations are both beautiful and instructive. [email protected]

The Vital Psoas Muscle
THIS BOOK IS A MUST-HAVE Great book! Straight to the point! Clear and easy-to-understand explanations on a difficult matter to show and explain. Simple approaches to the complex anatomy behind the Psoas muscle and science. Superb illustrations too! I've been working out the Psoas as a cyclist and have sharply improved my performance. With JoAnna's core approach to the Psoas in terms of integral work outs and stability exercises. I'm getting new & unexpected benefits day by day and a new sense of well being, never experienced. This is a great book for everybody how seeks to practice sports and improve the way they beel doing it. Highly recommended. Miguel Bruna Costa Rica

A beautiful book
This book was such a nice surprise - it has dozens of very descriptive photos which is very helpful if you want to follow the suggested exercises. The best part - the pages are glossy and of the highest quality. This kind of quality is rarely seen. The explanations are quite clear and easy to understand and follow. I love that the author connects this muscle, the Psoas, to our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. I love everything about this book.

This book is very well prepared and presented, tackling the subject directly and offering needed exercises to correct the neurological, function and pain issues developed with the "vital psoas muscle" out of balance and losing strength in the buttocks area. I am still in the process of reading the book but am so far delighted with the contents and well-defined bright pictures that help facilitate a better understanding of the physical conditions behind the suffering from debilitating sciatica and/or related physical body adversities.

I never fully understood this muscle before reading this book ...
I never fully understood this muscle before reading this book. I have no idea why, all these years of pelvic floor pain, not one doctor or physical trainer has ever discussed the significance and impact that these 2 muscles (one on each side) have in our physical body wellness. I cannot thank the author enough for writing this book and sharing her knowledge. It is well written and detailed. You will gain a lot from this book. The psoas is the key to hip, back, leg, and pelvic floor issues...ignore this muscle and you will most certainly be told you need surgery that if you could quite possibly avoid with attention to this critical muscle.

Forget about the word ‘spiritual’ in the book, then you might not be disapointed.
This book has very nice anatomic descriptions and drawings. It describes exercices from different point of view/disciplins ( pilates, yoga, physiotherapy). But the spiritual aspect is very poor. It only talks about the location of the chakras, without any symbolism.
