Hi, if this has no hard drive what happens? Do i need that for it to work or can it work without a hard drive

If you need recording and playback function, then you should have an internal hard drive in the DVR to set up recording. This system doesn't come with hard drive. If you need recording, we suggest you choose a system that comes with built in hard drive. If you'd like to buy a hard drive by yourself, please kindly note that our DVR is compatible with internal 3.5 inch hard drives which are specifically for surveillance security systems. And hard drives like Western Digital (purple) is suggested.
