Positively Enchanting!
Positively Enchanting! I don’t know if that’s a word the Amish would use, but it is the first that came to mind after reading the first four short stories. Then, after finishing the book, my thought was one had better hunker down, read slowly and listen carefully. There’s mega amounts of wisdom within these pages for every aspect of life.“A View from the Buggy”—a collection of everyday happenings by everyday Amish folks by Jerry S. Eicher and Nathan Miller—is a unique read. Delightful to say the least. Beginning each chapter with a Bible Scripture verse text, bringing Scripture texts alive into each chapter story is much appreciated. Many lessons to be learned, so many good stories told from birth to baptisms to burials. Through sorrows, griefs, tragedies and joys to heart peace.Am looking forward to reading aloud these true life experiences with our grandkids this summer—can hardly wait.A perfectly refreshing work for both old and young.A foot-note: We had the opportunity to read story #4—”Horses and Boys”—aloud with our 11 year-old grandson today. A very good read! A just-right story for a difficult afternoon. We learned that two people can NOT walk together if they don’t agree. “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3)

A wonderful look at Amush life
It seems that to often we think the Amish lead far different lives than we do. Yes, they don't use the technology we do; but, they live lives like we do. They have good days and bad days. And as these stories so well tell, their daily interactions are just like ours. And these glimpses also give us a great look into how their faith plays into their daily lives. Lessons we can all take to heart.

Great short stories.
I absolutely love these short stories written by the Amish about things they have done. Each story is only about 2 pages long and a reflection of their memories. While taking a break I can read a story and not feel like I need to keep reading until the end like a novel. It’s a joy reading about a simpler life.

Some of the stories were better than others
Some of the stories were better than others; it was not what we expected. My husband felt it was more for a woman to read.
