Good ending to the Rambo films

I watched this because as luck would have it I've been doing a "watch all the old action movies" thing for about 2 weeks. It started with First Blood so when I saw this was available to watch on Prime I watched it straight away. I had to bare in mind that the last 2 movies have just been ok and very gory. But, I couldn't get First Blood out of my head. I watched with no high expectations and was surprised by what I think is the best in the series since Rambo 2 (nonsense movie but still loved it). This is a box standard revenge movie but thanks to the direction it holds a steady pace, and I didn't get bored with the lead up. By the penultimate scenes I was screaming for blood just like Sly. The performances by all are really good too, having the Spanish translated rather than having all the characters speak English makes the film more polished . Sly is well Sly, but he adds a vulnerability to Rambo who has found happiness that is touching and again makes you side with him when the blood and guts start to flow, a good performance. The best acting scene I think is when he is speaking to the journalist when he returns. His niece is really good but even though she is not in it as much I thought one of the best performances in the film was the mother. She was so natural. The bad guys are well, bad, really bad in fact and pretty one dimensional but that's all you need from a bad guy with this kind of script.💋So to conclude, easy predictable story ( apart from one surprise which I should have seen), good performances, Just the right running length and a good old gory bloodbath at the end. OOh woman or not I love a good revenge film. I love the Walking Dead and so am used to some pretty gruesome deaths. If you're not that way inclined this isn't the movie for you. I grew up with Robocop, Aliens and the scifi films that I love. The Rambo films are a jolly good rollercoaster ride. This to me is his best. It shows his vulnerability. He's older, (he reminds me of a statue made of granite, I'd love to make a sculpture of him) he's on medication for all his aches and pains and mental problems from PTSD. He's happy to just look after his land, his tunnels and his loved ones. He made mistakes he got injured and nearly beaten to death. Although it's not real it had a more realistic quality to it than some of the others. I loved it. Revenge movies are the best. It shows our human side. If I saw an innocent person get a Rambo death I'd be hiding behind my cushion, and feeling nauseous. Seeing a bad guy a trafficker of women and children and I could happily eat a kebab while they get their head cut off. Great film beautifully done, well thought out. A triumph. Sly don't worry about age you've still got it. What you forget is we're all older too. Bravo

The best one yet and hopefully not the last. Although Rambo is looking pretty strange now. The same old plot and action but this one does feel new. Loved it.

It's all about that. Don't mess with an honorable man. Great movie, balanced action and violence deserved to the criminals see it and feel their balls HURT.
