Genius idea. They work great. As long as you place them without the far outer sides open (where they can't drink from them sideways), then they work perfect. Her ears stayed wet, but not anymore. These are awesome. Design, height, slip resistance, and sturdiness all 5 stars.

If you’re looking for a dog bowl that keeps the dogs ears out of the water or the food bowl this will fit your dog just perfect. My little girl kept putting her ears in the water bowl and getting water all over the house with these new bowls that’s completely eliminated that Problem.

This was purchased for small dogs with flowing ear hair. I had to block off part of the bowl with tape so the dogs could approach the bowl only from the width, not from the length, which would cause ear hair to be dipped in the bowl. Having two bowls on the mat is good for multiple dogs, and the mat keeps the bowls firmly in place. The unit is very easy to clean. I recommend this product.

The mat lets water soak through, damaging wood floors. The bowls are all plastic so slip around without the mat. Love the idea, poor execution. The recessed wells in the mat collect water which eventually soaks through. Bowls with rubber on the bottom would keep them from slipping around, and a better, non-porous mat would be great. Value for the money is extremely poor. This couldn't have cost much of anything to produce. It's just cheap plastic.

These bowls work great. My dog was a little confused by the oblong shape at first, but it didn't take long for her to figure it out. After a couple days she had no more hesitations with it. At this point I think she likes them more than any other bowl I tried. I love that her ears flop over the sides of the bowls. That saves me from having to clean gravy out of her ears every night. 5/5 stars for this reason alone. The bowls are a bit bigger than I expected. I dont know why I was thinking they would be smaller. But it turns out the large size is actually pretty nice because it is easy to mix the kibble/wet food together in it. The mat that they come with to set the bowls on is a very large cheap styrofoam mat. It was too big for where I keep my dog's food and water, so I am using a silicone mat that I had previously.

These bowls are solid and of high quality, and definitely do the job of keeping the ears clean. A couple of thoughts to make them even better: 1. The mat that it comes with is a very cheap foam material. I've been using these daily for a couple of weeks and there are dings in them which will soon turn to holes and render them worthless. You should instead have a rubber pad or feet on the bottom of the bowls because these do slide around easily on our kitchen floor. 2. I have a 30 pound puppy and I feed her twice per day. At present, I am almost completely filling them with food each meal time. When she tops off at 50 pounds, they will unfortunately be too small to use any longer, unless I would be willing to refill them during each meal. Maybe offer a larger size?

My dog has long floppy ears and these bowls are great for that. I do wish they were metal because they are pricey and easy chewed on. They keep are dogs ears clean and dry.
