Makita XBU03Z 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Blower, Tool Only

Very happy purchase. Paid for itself with the first usage (didn't have to hire the cleanup crew). Made clearing leaves from all the delicate plants very easy, and probably much safer than trying to rake it all out (much less damaging if you keep the airflow at the base). I started using it after some rain, and I'm really impressed that it handles wet leaves just fine (I was worried about a lack of power). A new-ish 6 amp battery doesn't last very long, maybe 10 minutes or so, so it really helps to have extras. The product photos show it with an extra nozzle, and it's not very obvious unless you do your research that the Z indicates it doesn't have a nozzle, so I'm disappointed to not have that - it would have helped with some finer work around plants. Nevertheless, I love the locking trigger, simple design, and light weight. So happy to not have to deal with a gas engine.

Best Yard ""Toy"" ever!! Powerful, reliable, worth the money!! I do recommend a 5 amp battery.... in a emergency, you can use a 3 amp battery but won't last long. With a 5 amp. will work about 25 to 35 minutes. Use the low speeds for small things to save battery... but if the job is heavy, pull the trigger and nothing resists. I take 2 to 3 minutes to blow all the front and side porches of our home..... I use a nose cone adaptor to concentrate the air flow so it gets more powerful! I also use do dry my motorcycle, clean um the pick up cargo area etc.

Makita makes a quality product. I purchased this as my current blower was electric and required an extension cord to work. My driveway is 300’ and that’s a lot of extension cord!! The Makita blower takes care of clearing my driveway of leaves and debris with a powerful blowing capacity. I did buy 2 rechargeable batteries, and I’m glad I did as it takes both to clear the whole driveway. They are fast charge so are ready in 30 mins to be used on the next clearing job. It is also light enough that my wife can comfortably use it for extended periods.

Received earlier this week (Oct. 2025). It took two. minutes to assemble. Works perfectly with my Makita 18v batteries. I went with Makita for all of my cordless tools... drills, impact, sander, saws-all, saw, limb trimmer, chainsaw, string trimmer, etc. I haven't got everything, but getting close. The blower itself is light and easy to use. Works well for what I need, which is lawn and leaf maintenance on my 3/4 acre homesite. Please with the purchase.

Works well for smaller-area cleanup (blowing leaves out of garage, cleaning fertilizer granules from driveway, smaller tasks like blowing leaves away from fence and clearing cuttings from walkways.). Is more powerful than expected, however only gives ~20 mins of operation (at full power) per charge. I still have a gas blower which I use for larger projects that will take longer. Weight and size is convenient for working in tighter/smaller areas where a backpack blower would be unwieldy. One con: air intake on back of unit will suck in your clothing, blocking the intake and impeding output. This is easy enough to avoid once you are aware of it, but would be nice if the intake were located elsewhere. Overall very happy with the product and versatility.

Outstanding. Great power, lightweight to use, long battery life. Different speeds to lightly dust off your work bench or create your own hurricane to clear debris from your driveway, yard, roof, patio, car, etc.

My mother needed something light-weight and portable for blowing her gardens and cleaning out the garage and such. The last time I a used an electric blower was many years ago and the power was underwhelming so was a bit skeptical at first, but after some research landed on this as unit as my choice. This product truly blew me away... I cannot believe how powerful and how incredibly light this blower is. Last I checked this was actually rated as the most powerful electric/battery-powered blower on the market, and it has certainly impressed the heck out of me. I got the kit that included a 4.0ah / 18v battery, but I also have a few 3.0ah batteries from other Makita tools I own. I found, that at least for our purposes, the 3.0ah batteries are more than adequate. There is no difference in speed/output from using a larger battery, just run time. My ONE gripe with this is that there are two "attachment" pieces (extender and angled/focused tip/nozzle). They aren't required, but are nice to have. Regardless, last I checked they were selling individually for ~$20/piece. I find this to be a bit of a frustrating sales tactic to increase margins by squeezing another ~$40 for two small pieces of plastic to complete this "kit". That said, there are several off-brand options available for cheaper, and considering it's just two pieces of molded plastic this is the way I intend to go. in short, we absolutely LOVE this blower. This is not something that I'd use to clear my large yard of leaves, but is spectacular for small-medium jobs like blowing out gardens, cleaning up workspaces... we even use this to dry the cars after washing. I love this units design... it moves an INCREDIBLE amount of air, and is also incredibly lightweight and compact, and IMHO reasonably priced. I truly could not be happier with this unit and would recommend without hesitation. If you're in the market for an electric blower look no further, this unit will not disappoint!!

Great price, work great. Lots of power! Battery life with full charge for 5ah is 20-30 minutes. Great investment.
