mmm
upgraded my wifes phone to one that can make wifi calls, shame that sky wifi will not work with doro phones. Not as easy to use as my wifes earlier phone.

Wi-Fi Calling Works with EE Sim
This is the only Senior Type phone that has Wi-Fi calling as of Nov. 2020. This feature will currently only work with an EE Sim and the Wi-Fi calling option only appears in the Menu when a Software update has been performed after installing the Sim card, the software update option is found in one of the menu's. A number of resets (power on/off) are required before the feature activates. The phone is average construction and the charging base works fine, the ringer is lound and call quality is good. Because the phone has Wi-fi it does add another layer of complication and it also has Whats App and Facebook included, but character input is slow and tedious on the phones small predictive text keypad and I wouldn't buy it to use these features. The Menu is based on Android so it is not as slick or user friendly as it could be! However once everything is set up it works fine and makes calls with no problems. Not easy for an elderly person with little experience to set up themselves but not difficult for someone who is used to Android Smart phones. I suggest reviewing the full instruction manual on Doro's website, 70 pages! If your are in a poor signal area but have WiFi like many care homes this Doro phone is a reasonable solution, for just making calls!

Impossible to use - even with perfect sight
My husband is visually impaired and has always had the very basic Door phones. They are easy to use with clear uncluttered displays and the ability to increase text size and visibility. When he decided a phone that would also allow him to join in Whattsapp chats, this seemed the perfect upgrade. We were bitterly disappointed. Unlike other reviewers, I found it easy to set up but the display is small and cluttered and Whattapp and Facebook use a very tiny curser to navigate. I have no sight problems at all but could only see this cursor properly if I put it under the enlarger. My husband then tried a Google Pixel phone which offers the simplicity and accessibility he needs and gives him the other features of a smart phone should he decide he needs them at some point. Having said all this, the seller was excellent and it was very easy to get a full refund of the price of the phone. However, you need to be aware that, if there is no fault with the phone and it is just not right for you, then you are responsible for return postage.

EASY USE PHONE.
Well this is a phone? I have purchased two of these phones for a friends parents , brilliant!! Very easy to set up, user friendly, simply a phone with a few extras. Like camera, a little social media available if enquired, large buttons, good screen, loud rind tone if required. Good to have emergency auto call button if required! I have found these phones to work well, I am happy to recommend these phones for anyone!! Not just for people of a certain age!! After all it is a good mobile phone!! The clam phone is retro, compact, easy to use and makes calls. What more do you want ? Pay as you go makes life easier? Just top up when required? No contact needed .

not as easy to use as expected
I have a Doro 2G non-flip which sets a very high bar on simplicity. Having tried this one I believe that for email and WhatsApp this not the way to go. For example, Gmail requires 2 stage authentication to be switched off and IMAP to be switched on. I'm not convinced the WhatApp app will be kept as up to date as on Android or Apple. I failed to get Gmail to work. Yes keys are better than a touch screen but this models keys are not as large and tactile as my 2G Doro. There is a torch but its a fiddle to activate unlike the 2G which has an external button. So back to the drawing board for a senior friendly 3G/4G phone.

Great little phone
Nice big buttons, Android OS, very easy to navigate around the apps and most of all it's small enough to fit easily in my pocket. It does everything well that I want to do on a mobile. However, the screen isn't big enough to do much on the internet but I find touchscreen phones too big and heavy to go in my trouser pocket and despite their bigger screen, for me it's still not really big enough for anything more than modest internet use, best done on my tablet, laptop or pc.

good and reliable
Love this phone ,as the flip, save inadvertently sending etc, also good for e.mails and Whatsapp.Photos etc Once you master the technical bits, it so easy for us elderly folk , who want basic usage ,not a smartphone, but enough for general use. AND a reasonable price.
