Bit Butter is great for all small scrapes and bites.

Helps with horses hard to bridle
Bought this for a gelding that would not (easily) take the bit. He is still not taking it himself, but this reduced his objections significantly. I also use it in the corners of his mouth & anywhere that might get rubbed.

It’s not Butter! But it’s not Parkay
My horse is still not sure if he likes the butter , but he seems to think it is interesting . It rubs in very easily on the sides of his mouth and it lubricates the bit nicely. I got it for a finicky red mare but everyone is using it and seems to like it.

The answer to a horse who won’t accept a bit
One day, my horse decided he wouldn’t take the bit anymore… after 21 years. I investigated every possible cause - pain, dental, etc. There was no issue other than he is an emotional wreck. After battling him endlessly to get him to accept the bit, I started to do research and found this. He really likes it - it smells good too. Can also help if there’s a soreness issue in the corner of the mouth. Just remember with this, a little goes a long way!

My Clydesdale loves it, he used to fight the bridling process it with patience and reward of the bit bitter he looks forward to taking the bit, and a little dab goes a long way, this container should easily last me a few months

I like it
The bit butter smells like peppermint candy but has no flavor. Yes, I tasted it. I like the consistency. I’m using it with a double and although the horse seemed very interested in the smell there was no appreciable difference during the ride in contact, foaming etc. There were no real issues there anyway, I’m just trying to prevent any winter chapping and make life more pleasant for the pony. I didn’t have an issue with application in cold weather but I did apply it to bits straight out of a warmer so ymmv. It seemed to make the bits a little easier to clean post ride. Overall it seems a tad unnecessary for my particular situation and a bit overpriced but it’s a good sized jar which should last a while. I’ll continue to use it over the winter.
