American Mah Jongg Set Black Quilted Soft Bag - 166 White Engraved Tiles, 4 All-in-One Rack/Pushers

This is an excellent, quality mahjong set. The quilted case is well made and pleasant to the touch. The tiles are bright white, good size and feel. The racks have integrated pushers (not add-ons). There are two trays to hold the tiles with covers that click down to prevent them from spilling out. There are quilted covers for the tiles and the racks, with Velcro closures. There is a pocket inside the case for the extra tiles and other odds and ends. There is a written guide for playing and learning the game. And the case is not too small, but is roomy enough to easily get all the pieces/parts in the case with some room left over for other small items. I bought the tile shufflers extra at a minimal cost. But they are not a must have. It can be really loud when shuffling the tiles with them (they are made out of stiff plastic that doesn’t bend), though I think you do get them shuffled better than doing it by hand. However, you end up having to turn over tiles after the shuffling. I LOVE playing with my set and friends really like it too. I also like the smoke gray racks better than the pastel colored racks in other sets. The only thing I didn’t absolutely love about this set involves the case handles. I wish they were covered in the same quilted material as the case. I’ve gotten a few emails from the manufacturer. So I feel they are really interested in providing a quality product and making sure their customers are pleased. Though I haven’t submitted an issue to them that needed resolution, I feel they probably would work well with me to resolve a problem.

While I ultimately returned my Li tile set (I preferred the larger size of another Hong Kong Mahjong tile set I ordered from Amazon), this set is unquestionably very high quality. It would delight anyone who prefers a set that would be easy to play at home or travel with. The case is quilted and very sturdy, with a shoulder strap for easy carrying (I felt it could have been a little longer though). All of the included tiles and game pieces are well made and colorful. The instruction manual is excellent - very clear and easy to understand for new players. I did find it a bit pricey, especially given the fact that the larger tile set that I ultimately kept was less than half the price of this one. That said, if this is the tile size you’re looking for, you can’t go wrong with this set. Highly recommended.

It has everything I need and is neat and tidy in the cute quilted carry bag. The tiles are a nice size and weight and the tray with push bars work well.

Good set. Easy to pack up and transport. Note: the blank sides of the tiles do warp over time. My friend has the same set and her tiles warped too….

This is a really lovely American Mahjong set! I had another set and one of the tiles cracked. Instead of the hard rectangular box cases for the tiles, you just put them into bags that had no padding. I'm not sure how the tile cracked since no one was rough with it. When I saw this set I thought it was the best of both worlds, a nice quilted case and the plastic rectangular boxes for the tiles held together in place with quilted velcro fastening covers. I was right! It takes just a bit longer to put away than sweeping the tiles into a bag, but I don't mind. I like taking care of my things. Also the joker tiles in this set have a sparkly gold design which I find interesting and beautiful. There are also 2 sets of Flowers, one has the name of the seasons on it and one does not. I like using the ones with the seasons since I sometimes play with people who get the 1 Bam confused with the flower tiles. The holders/pushers are one piece also, which I hadn't seen before. Really love them and it's very easy to stack them and wrap them in their quilted velcro cover to keep them protected.

I like this set a lot. I play Mahjong regularly but this is the first American set I have owned. Everything works well and fits in the bag well. No complaints.

Classic tiles, no guessing what it is! Clear light black racks, no rainbow colors! Large dice size! Two ways to store tiles- in quilted bags or in covered boxes. Large black quilted bag makes storage and carrying so easy! Love this set! Classic set for a classic girl!
