Broken but...
So let's start with what is good... 1. Storage box - excellent. 2. Nozzle selection - you get 8 stainless steel nozzles - not bad as a starter kit. 3. Biscuit cutters - you get 13 which is probably more than you will need. 4. Assembly - easy and logical - it takes seconds to assemble and disassemble. 5. Cleaning - handwash only but still easy, make sure you release the ratchet (top button) to keep cleaning simple. 6. Usage - can be used one handed (something I struggle to do with icing bags). So what is not so good... 1. Instruction leaflet - bigger print, bigger pictures of cutters and nozzles would be an improvement. Filling instructions would be great. 2. Filling - needs practice. As with any icing gun you have a limited opening so things can get messy if you try and load it either too quickly or with too big a spoon! 3. No recipe - A biscuit recipe (or two) would be very useful; I had to google "piped biscuit recipe" and then try out a couple to find the right consistency (240g butter, 90g icing sugar, 270g plain flour). 4. Biscuit production needs practice and some cutters work better than others. Some require two or more pumps of the trigger and you need to lift upwards carefully after pumping to ensure you don't smudge the shape. My advice is to have a trial session before you use them in earnest! 5. Robustness - like other reviewers a plastic part of my icing gun broke. It has only had a limited amount of use but sadly the break happened after the guarantee period elapsed. LUCKILY, the leaflet includes the manufacturers details and they are replacing the broken part for me free of charge. If you are good with an icing bag you may not get on with this gun, but if like me you struggle with bags then I would recommend this set.One last point, two other sets exist which may be worth a look, Judge Icing Gun and Cookie Kit and Dessert Decorator Pro - if my icing gun breaks a second time I think the latter may be my replacement!Update - the manufacturer has replaced the broken part - their customer service has been excellent - polite, quick and very helpful!

Perfect for choux pastry
I’m really happy with this device. I bought it to make profiteroles because using spoons was giving me uneven shapes and sizes and piping bags with their tiny nozzles were bursting under the pressure! The first few were a bit of a mess but the technique is easy to learn and the rest were quite uniform. I also used it to fill the profiteroles afterwards. My husband had a bit of an issue with somehow getting cream behind the plunger and that ended up squirting out of the back of the gun around the mechanism, but he thinks he maybe got some air trapped in there or something. More of a user error than an equipment error. There are lots of small parts to clean and dry but this is easy enough if it’s done straightaway. Assembly is straightforward, the parts are just a bit stiff the first few times you twist them. It comes in a plastic box that can be kept for storage, which I find useful in a baking cupboard that is otherwise overflowing with loose bits and bobs.Overall I think it’s a sturdy good quality piece of kitchen equipment and it’s giving me the results I wanted. I just need a bit more practice! I haven’t tried to make biscuits or do any decorative piping.

Cookies are a breeze
I bought this for myself, initially to use as an icing gun because I am not great with using icing bags and the other type of plastic icing guns gave me sore fingers! Anyways, had the younger grandchildren round to make cookies, This was the first time using it.....and three eager beavers to help!!.......used the recipe for cookies as written by one of the other reviews, and they turned out fantastic, couldn't believe how many we made in such a short space of time, there are loads of cookie cutters to choose from, they loved picking out the different designs. I took the advice of another reviewer and did not grease the tin, good tip. If you want very small cookies, just click the gun ONCE and pull the gun away, if you want bigger and fatter cookies, click the gun TWICE before pulling the gun away from each cookie.ICING A CAKE - To be honest, I found this a little harder, it does work and it s certainly easy on the fingers, you just keep clicking the gun trigger, but personally I wouldn't recommend it for very fine detailed icng because it is difficult to control the flow of the icing, a bit like one of those guns that are used to put silicone sealer around a bath.....they carry on spouting product until you release the trigger.......this is very similar......I did successfully ice the outside of a sponge cake using the larger rose shape, I suppose I was just hoping it would be a bit more detailed. It could be that I need to practice more. Dont be put off this item though, it is actually very good all in all and comes in a great storage container.

Replacement
Easier than an icing bag for my dexterity difficulties with hands.Purchased as a replacement for idential item ordered 10 years ago. Only thing wrong with older item was a cracked plastic cap, unable to purchase replacement part.

Brilliant but didn’t last long
Pretty easy to use but not to easy to clean I brought a bottle brush to clean, but plastic near the top cracked so it now pops apart
