Stohlquist Kids Life Jacket Coast Guard Approved Life Vest for Children

Pushes my 38 pound 3 year old face down in the water. She can swim, but we needed a jacket for our boat. Even when she tries the just float without moving it flips her over & pushes her face in the water! Glad I took her to the pool for a test try before a run on the boat! This would have killed her if she fell off the boat!

BECAREFUL i ordered the PDFlll based on product description which stated Padded head support has an additional foam band for increased security; design helps child naturally float face up!! when i received the product it firmly stated on its fact sheet IT DID NOT ROLL CHILD TO FACE UP that it was more of a face down support and the child would have to lean head back and have some swimming skills. child is only 3 and just starting to learn to swim so i would prefer something a bit safer ..so based on this i am returning and will try the PDFll

Love the low V shaped neck cut of this vest. It is very comfortable for our 3 year old.

Perfect life jacket for my toddler who isn't quite strong enough for me to trust in less secure jackets. I made sure to test this one before our boating excursions to ensure it would flip him if he fell and was lying face-first in the water. It does. I used this same style/brand for an infant vest last year, too. I highly recommend this jacket for all kiddos enjoying water activities.

Tested this out at the pool. Flips them quickly to their back. My son hated it and fought it so he would go back to his tummy for a second but it kept flipping him to his back. Other than the flipping, my son didn’t mind wearing it and appeared to be comfortable. We will definitely be using this for boating this summer but not for general swimming or playing in the water.

My kid is the only one I know who loves his life jacket and requests it when we're near water. This jacket has a really slim back so it's less bothersome to wear. Our son is super active and it doesn't get in his way. And I like that there isn't an obnoxious character on it so it will be easy to pass down to his little sister :) Great purchase! We've had this now for a couple years (this was a replacement buy because we left it drying on top of the car and then drove on the freeway, whoops) and still love it.

My daughter loves the pink color and is comfortable in and out of the water. I wanted a Life Jacket rather than floaties to teach her swimming.The Stohlquist is type II in Canada and keeps her head above the water. It does turn her face-up when she doesn’t move. So, I trust it’s safety for near-shore boating.½ star off for color bleeding, small purple stains on the pink after handwashing with Tide.

If you're looking for a vest for someone learning to swim, this is perfect. The additional float behind the head, the overall quality, and the handle make it ideal for a little one. My son has used this all summer and it shows no signs of wear or tear. The only downside is it really does top out at 50 lbs. My son is 47 pounds and he's starting to bob a little farther down when swimming. But overall an amazing product.

I did a ton of research and this one was consistently more accepted by toddlers. We just got the next size up as the last one worked well.
