Great Eagle Lighting Corporation 100W LED Light Bulb Equivalent A19 Soft White 3000K Dimmable UL Listed (6 Pack)

The media could not be loaded.  I purchased the pack in 5000k. At first I was very happy with how bright and great the daylight color was. However after only two weeks of operation, one of the lights began flickering horribly. I was going to rate this 5 stars but it appears there is a quality control issue. At first I thought something was wrong with my power output or my dimmer. However after recording the lights for a while I was finally able to catch it in action. One of the bulbs started flickering and I switched it to a different location in the light sockets. Sure enough the same bulb in a different location flickered, this time even worse than before. There's a QC issue here, likely there's chips inside that might be broken or poor quality. Additionally the heat might be a cause. If you buy these, I'd definitely give them some time to "burn in" first and let them heat up under regular load before deciding to keep them or not.*Update*I returned these and purchased a second set as replacement in July 31 2019. It is now November 2019 and another light bulb is flickering and struggles to turn on. When I flip the switch 3 out 4 bulbs turn on instantaneously but one is partially on, meaning only some of the LEDs inside turn on and the rest flicker. Until about 5-10 minutes after the bulb warms up the rest of the LEDs in the bulb turn on. Even then they flicker occasionally. I gave this company two chances unfortunately they blew it both times. They have some severe QC issues. I would go with a more reputable brand.*Update #2* It is January 2019 and two more lights started flickering. I purchased two boxes of these and bulbs from both boxes are flickering. So far 4 bulbs from two different boxes have gone bad. Clearly these were not built well. I called Great Eagle about these and was offered a refund quickly. I appreciate the quick refund but unfortunately it's not a brand I'd purchase again.**Update #2** it’s July 2020 and of the two boxes I purchased (6 each for a total of 12) only 4, one third remains working. They have all slowly started flickering and died out completely. Not recommended.

email sent saying that using these in a dimmer might cause a fire so even if its a 1 in a million chancewill use them in un dimmable light in basement Be extra careful if using a dimmer switch, motion sensor, ceiling fan with remote, or any other set up not using a plain on/off light switch. The use of a non-LED compatible dimmer or other lighting controller will affect the performance and longevity of the bulb, and can be a fire hazard. They are advertising this bulb as "Great Eagle's A19 bulbs are rated at 25,000 hours" which is bull! I have had this bulb in two different lamps and they both went out at the same time in 5 months(3,500 hours). This is false advertising and these bulbs are not cost effective at all!

These require a special LED dimmer switch be installed. Beware, the bulbs do not work at all in light fixtures with regular dimmer switches, even if the dimmer is turned to full power. Our home was built in 2004. Dimmer switches from this era will not light these bulbs. I would have to install all new dimmer switches everywhere I wanted to install these bulbs, just to make these bulbs light up. They do work if you are using the bulbs in a fixture that does not have a pre-LED dimmer switch.

Bright enough, but just guessing on longevity. Reasonable price for LED bulbs. Update: 12/30/19. Two of the bulbs failed to date by startling to flicker when first turned on. The flickering got progressively worse until I had to remove them due to the annoyance caused by the flickering. Update: It is now 1/20/2020 and four of the six bulbs have failed with the flickering problem. Additional update: It's now 2/18/20 and the last of the 6 pack of these bulbs has failed due to flickering. Several of them also had some sort of oily substance that leaked out of the bulb. I'm changing my rating based on the extremely short life of these bulbs. It isn't the LEDs that fail it's the driver circuitry that's inadequate. If one failed I would consider it a fluke, but every one of the six pack failed in the same manner indicating a design flaw. Would I buy these again? Not a chance.

Better than expected. In fact, I liked them so much, I ordered 2 more boxes to replace additional lights throughout the house. My bathroom vanity has 8 in it... and holy cow, I now have the "mirror of truth". Maybe I'll go back to dimmer lights in my bathroom, only because I prefer the illusion that my hair just has a few extra highlights these days... no one likes to see that much truth first thing in the morning! Great for putting on makeup though.I'm also using these lights in my craft room and any areas around the house where I want extra bright lighting. Very good value and these things don't make any noise... at all. Nice to be rid of that incessant humming noise made by the curly type bulbs I had before.
