Use a duplex LC-LC single-mode UPC (BLUE) patch cord (9/125μm). The included SFP runs at 1310nm. Avoid APC (GREEN) connectors, as they are not compatible. If needed, you can swap the SFP for multimode or other options.

Q: I plan to use it as a standalone unit – what should I watch for?

This converter cannot replace ISP ONTs (e.g., FiOS, GPON). It works only with standard Ethernet-to-fiber links. Ensure the wavelength matches on both ends (e.g., 1310nm TX - 1310nm RX) and use a compatible LC UPC patch cord

No, this cannot replace ISP ONTs like Verizon FiOS, Google Fiber, AT&T Fiber, or CenturyLink. These providers use GPON/XGS-PON, which requires their own ONT. This converter works only for standard Ethernet-to-fiber extensions, not ISP connections.
