From Alamo To El Dorado: Great Western Movie & TV Soundtracks Vol. 2

I like this cd so much I listen to it everyday.

This is one of the CDs riding around in my car right now. It is fun to listen to when running errands. Remind me of the movies this music comes from.

First have to set the Record straight. The track desciption lists "Bronco" From "Bronco Billy" (The Clint Eastwood Movie), THAT IS NOT THE CASE. This "Bronco" is from the 60's TV Show. That said, this is a unique collection of TV/Movie Westerns, that are done quite nice. It would have been nice if they had filled the CD. It runs less than a hour, a little over 55 minutes.I like the obscure songs, like "Cat Ballou" by Nat King Cole & Stubby Kaye, Title Song From "El Dorado" by George Alexander, "Sugarfoot" by Sons of The Pioneer, even the Humorous Bob Hope doing "Buttons" & Bows from the movie "The Paleface". Also I like that they included not only the original song from the Movie "True Grit" by Glenn Campbell, but a Rare Spanish Version that he did. I think this is a true collectors gem.

We love the old western theme songs in movies & they make a great addition to our collection. I especially wanted this album for the Ballad of Cat Ballou done by Tubby Hayes & Nat King Cole! This is one of my all time favorites-I love the movie, too. I grew up going to the theatre to see it & then watching it on television. Other great western songs on this album, too.

Good music from some old movies

I mainly ordered this CD for the opening theme from El Dorado. It's good but they seemed to edit in the music from the end of the movie at the end of the song. Not a big deal, but it's enough to deduct one star. The sound quality is excellent and I especially enjoyed the Johnny O' Neill theme from Wagon Train, with the catchy tune and lyrics that were only heard for one season. All in all, this CD provides a lot of memories for us western fans.

I bought this to get a cd /quality copy of Old Turkey Buzzard from McKenna's Gold having bought a faulty 45 rpm of this.While there are some obscure tracks ,most are well known ,are originals and if you like this genre ,are fantastic memorabilia .I loved it overall ,the quality is superb given their age and as a result bought the other two CDs in the series.

I found myself singing along to the cowboy theme tunes of my youth. I chose this because the songs are performed by the original singers which makes all the difference. When it arrived I noted that it was volume 2. I will be looking for Volume 1!

Für einen Fan meines alters,kenn ich die Lieder ohne Ausnahme alle.Auch für die junge Generatin sind sie zu empfehlen.Da dies die Folge 2 schon ist muß ich mich darum kümmern die erste zu ergatter.Drückt mir die Daumen.Pauli

Dafür, dass drei oder vier Titel original sind, bekommt die CD einen zweiten Stern. Aber wenn ich die alten (ehrwürdigen) Western mit einem unterlegten Foxtrott höre, könnte ich kotzen. Auch ein Walzer ist dabei, ...würg!!! Sollen wir vielleicht auf diese Musik tanzen? Außerdem, was sind denn das für Western? Die kommen ja wohl aus dem Vorabendprogramm und Fury ist kein Western, sondern eine schreckliche Kinderserie, dann fehlt ja wohl hier noch Lassie und Flipper. Solche Sampler werden für Liebhaber und Kenner gemacht, und gerade die werden hier zum großteil verarsc.... Ich behalte die CD, weil fünf Stücke brauchbar sind und der Rückversand zu viel Stress bedeutet. Ich suche weiter nach den guten Samplern.
