Drip Irrigation Project!
This review is for a variety of products all in one. This spring (2013) my wife and I put in 2 4'x20' raised bed gardens in the back yard for growing flowers and veggies. We live in Tennessee and the middle of the summer is hot and dry. I wanted a way to keep the plants watered and decided to convert a "spray zone" of our irrigation system to drip. I set up the garden with short rows that run the width of the boxes. I designed the garden with lots of short rows that run the 4' width of the boxes. Imagine a railroad track. The rails are the "feeder lines" that run the length of my setup, and the drip lines are the railroad ties that cut across the width of the garden (parallel with the rows of plants). I needed "feeder line" to bring the water to the drippers, and a variety of connectors to put it all together. I planned it all out on paper first, and then made sure I purchased enough parts. I purchased the following products for my setup:Rain Bird Landscape Dripline System 1/2-Inch Emitter Tubing With 18-Inch Spacing - 100-Foot Roll (5 stars)Rain Bird BT50-4PK Landscape Dripline System 1/2-Inch Barbed Tees, 4 Pack (5 stars)Rain Bird BE50-4PK 1/2-Inch Barbed Elbows (5 stars)Rain Bird EC50-Rain Bird GS50-10PK Landscape Dripline System 1/2-Inch Galvanized Wire Secures, 10-Pack (4 stars)2PK Landscape Dripline System 1/2-Inch End Closure Fittings (5 stars)Rain Bird Landscape Dripline System Spray Head To Drip Connection Kit (5 stars)Rain Bird T63100-BULK 1/2-Inch 100-Feet Landscape Dripline System Blank Tubing Roll (5 stars)These parts were all high quality, and I am extremely pleased with the setup. I cut all the tubing to size and layed it all out prior to putting it all together. It is very difficult to fit the tubing over the barbs, but once on it stays in place and doesn't leak. My hands ached after putting a bunch of the tubing together, so I ended up using leather work gloves which made things go a lot better.A few things to note:1) I don't have a rainbird setup, and this kit fit in great with my existing irrigation system.2) The tubing is a bit stiff and can kink easily, but works very well, so be careful when connecting things.3) The tubing and barbs are not the same inner diameter as stuff you can get at plumbing supply or home improvement centers. That means you can't mix and match, which is ok with me.4) I used some teflon plumbers tape when attaching parts that screw in.

Micro Drip extensions...must need.
One of the best purchases I have made in a long time. Here in central Texas we have been in a drought for about five years. It has gotten so bad that there is a no watering at all order in effect. I live at a lake and the past several months have brought our lake high enough that we should be able to water intermittently. Micro drip irrigation is a concept that I have considered for many years and this year I decided to buy this for myself for mother’s day. I have an in ground sprinkler system that I have not been able to use at all for two years now. Even if I decided to turn it on, the neighbors would not be very happy with me nor will that water company. I currently use vegetables and some flowers as my landscaping. There are several reasons that this kit is a good starting point for all your watering needs.1. This system is versatile to a point that once established you can change where the water goes, add to the system, make changes where ever you need, and is what I call idiot proof. Even if you make a mistake, it can easily be corrected with little effort.2. Affordability. Even though I have made several purchases to add to my original starter’s kit, I still have less than one hundred dollars in my system.3. All your watering needs are taken care of with little effort. The ½ soaker type hose can also be tapped into to add additional watering connections. The ½ Inch black hose carries the water wherever you need it. There are drips that can be set up at the base of the plant so that just the plant gets the water and no water is wasted. Micro sprayers in a half circle and full circle can cover a larger area all at one time and so on. There are so many options and the pieces needed are low cost and almost full proof.4. Not only can others not see that I am watering, except for the fact that my grass may be dying but my vegetables, herbs, and flowers are growing like crazy, the amount of water required in minimal. Not a drop of water is wasted. Turn the water on and let it do its thing for thirty minutes or so depending on the amount of surface area that you watering, then just turn the water off.I have doubted some of my purchases in the past but this is not one of them. I will continue to add to my micro drip even after the drought. I never have to worry if I missed plants while watering or that I might not have laid down enough water. In addition to my original kit I have purchased the 1/2 black tubing 100' four times now, not because the other went bad but that I have extended the watering system to my entire garden and landscaping. This tubing is tough and does the job that needs to be done without any trouble. I will continue purchasing this product especially from this seller and at cheaper price than others.

Excellent hose and totally odorless!
This hose is great! Most importantly, the hose is totally odorless, which makes us feel comfortable using it with our food crops. We also love the colored line that makes it easier to spot. The hose had no difficulty handling our irrigation system which operates using a 25 PSI regulator from a standard household outdoor faucet.Be aware that this hose, because it is odorless (and therefore contains fewer toxic plasticizers than the more flexible hoses), is less flexible than the horribly stinky PVC-type hoses. Although it's a bit less flexible, we still prefer the RainBird hose because it is odor-free. It wasn't difficult to use with some practice. If you need to turn it on a right angle, use a right angle connector so you don't kink the hose. We'll gladly buy this again! Great deal for the price, too.

best tubing I've found so far
A very good half inch ID irrigation tubing, however if slightly mishandled It is prone to kinking. This tubing fits and securely holds the half inch fittings that have the screw down collars. I personally have not had good luck with the punch in fittings. When I attached this tubing to drip tape using the screw down fittings I had excellent results without leaks and a fast assembly.
