Diagnosing Stihl MS250 part # 00004001306 ignition coil
This fit my Stihl MS250 part # 00004001306 ignition coil. And solved my "won't start" problem immediately. The good thing about this product is the plug wire is pre-made for a perfect fit in my MS250 saw. (No cutting & splicing some generic plug wire to make it fit & hope that splice doesn't bleed spark somewhere.) It was/is also a perfect fit for where the old coil was in my MS250.So far in my experience I give this coil a 5 out of 5 for form, fit & function.I had what appeared to be good spark at the spark plug but could smell unburned fuel vapor coming from muffler. Stihl won't publish how to check the magneto/coil, even in their own manuals, without buying a special tool they want to sell you or leave you only the option of going to an authorized Stihl dealer who has one. I take that as really bad faith on their part.Other sites online will tell you how to read primary & secondary coil resistance, which is incredibly easy with a simple VOM (volt-ohm-meter). Briefly; Primary is from the terminal to a spot on the coil, Secondary from the terminal to the spark plug end of the plug wire. The coil on my 5 year old Stihl saw was reading 1.6-1.7 ohms (on the 200 ohm scale) on the primary coil & about 10.84 (on the 20k ohm scale) on the secondary. This new coil came in at 1.2 ohms on the primary & 5.69-5.70 on the secondary. Replacing it with this new coil turned out to be the solution.I hope this helps others out diagnosing their coil or won't start issue.

Fit like original and runs in the MS 210 C
Fit well in my MS 210 C and started right up. Can’t say anything about how long it will last, but it is worth a shot for the price

Working Well
I ran into issues with my Stihl ms250 chainsaw just dying out after getting warmed up and not wanting to restart until the following day and then doing the same thing again.Found it was losing spark so I bought and installed this replacement coil and the saw has been doing fine since, see how the longevity goes but so far so good.

Junk - don't buy This is returned very often.
It was difficult to install because it didn't fit well. Nearly impossible to adjust the gap. When finally getting it on and adjusted -- It didn't work. I reinstalled the old one just to see if the problem was me. It fit great. I returned to Amazon even though it certainly has shop wear and ordered another brand. Don't make the same mistake I did. Don't buy this one!I do not recommend.

Fit Stihl MS-250 Perfectly
Can’t speak to the longevity as I just put it in a Stihl MS-250. Fingers crossed on that. Was easily able to thread the boot up to the spark plug. Had some self inflicted issues running the wire under the coil to make it fit properly but just needed to give the wire more slack (had to pull some down from the top) to make it work. Boot was correct fit / angle for the plug. Make sure you tighten top screw on the coil first. If you put the bottom one in first, it will pull the coil away from the flywheel. Happy that it fit perfectly as I read many reviews about other coils that did not.
