As stated in another review it was tight fit, but that’s good with a high pressure fitting. After realizing that I could not just screw it onto my pump hose using the old pump head parts the way some exact copy heads can, I chopped off the old end of the old tube with a small pair of very sharp garden loppers (but could have use razor knife). I then gently clamped the new pump head in a vice so it could take downward pressure, lubed the receiving collar nubs with oil and gently twisted and pushed and wiggled hose in with steady pressure until I got tube to flare and slip well onto fitting. (Another customer said they pre-flared it. I did not have to because the Bontrager hose was flexible enough. ) Kind of like doing a garden hose repair without hose clips. Of course you slip the bright orange plastic screw collar fitting onto the hose first so it is in position to mate with the pump head assembly. Nice tight fit. Works great. Orange screw collar brought it together securely and withstood medium force. Well made. Great value. Will purchase again for another pump.

I had a nice pump that pooped out, it was expensive so I didn't want to buy another, got this for a fraction of the price and it worked. Easy installation, seems to be made well, works well too. If I can get 3 years out of it before buying another pump I'll be happy.

Update October 2024. While at first performance was great, the head has now failed and after waiting over a week for a response from SKS they said it was just dirty! I tried cleaning prior and when I replied to explain that I got an auto generated email saying try another support for UK customers!!! I live in the USA…… I have a Bontrager pump that’s at least twenty years old and was not holding a tight seal on valve stems, this SKS model was easy to swap with no cutting or issues and works flawlessly

Bought this pump head after the head on my Avenir Airmax went bad. I took the Avenir to a bike shop and the techs tested it on my bike tire and then on another bike...it was done. The Presta fitting just wasn't working. So I bought a pump at the store with the assurance that I could return it. I went home and searched on pump parts, found this pump head and it's one review, and decided to take a chance with it.It arrived a day later, and I swapped out the old head in less than 10 minutes. It was so easy. I simply unscrewed the fitting on the old head ( the fitting is the same same as the orange fitting in this photo), slid the hose off the male connector, slid it back on the connector of the SKS pump head, and screwed the fitting on snugly. Tested it on my bike and...it's like a brand new pump! Wow! The only reason it took 10 minutes was that I didn't want to screw it up so went real slowly. No instructions came with it, but they aren't needed, it's that easy to install! I recommend it.

Bought this to replace a broken valve on my pump.The latch is counterintuitive. But once I figured that out, it works. Presta side works well. Schrader side is finicky.

I needed to replace the worn head on a Joe Blow Sprint. Just yanked out the old one and inserted this, which fit snugly and securely. Seems well made and works great on both types of valves. The individual ports should mean there are no internal valves to wear out from constant switching back and forth. I like that it locks when you press the lever down. You can get better leverage and seems more intuitive. Excellent and inexpensive way to extend the life of an otherwise good air pump.

I had purchased the original replacement head months ago, recently presta orifice was not sealing and subsequently not only was the pump non functional but my tire was woefully under inflated as air was escaping while attempting to add. Sounds bad but.......purchased a replacement and again no bueno, contacted CS and he gave me some troubleshooting (ball valve jiggle) but then at no charge sent another of the same model and one of the new design. I went with the new and it is magnificent. I was already sold on the idea of the seating lever swinging down against the valve stem but the new design is even more stable on the stem. This is a great feature as the presta core can easily be bent if the head is not flush with the stem. Me like.
