🐾 An Apology to Cats Everywhere: We Stole Your Gourmet Treats! 🐟🐑
Dear Felines of the World, We are writing this review to issue a formal, tail-wagging apology. Our human—who is usually quite sharp with the Māori principle of Kaitiaki (environmental guardianship)—made a grave error 🤦♂️. She accidentally bought the ZIWI Peak Mackerel & Lamb meant for you and gave it to us! As dedicated raw-feeders who normally dine on fresh meat and bone, we have a few "critical" barks on why this cat-specific formula became our favourite accidental heist: • The "Raw" Identity Crisis 🧬: While humans argue over whether air-drying "cooks out" the living enzymes (as advocate Rodney Habib suggests), we just think it tastes like the world’s most expensive jerky. It’s miles ahead of standard kibble! • The Training Cheat-Code 🎓: Our human uses these squares for what Dr. Ian Dunbar calls "lure-reward" training. They are the perfect size for snuffle mats and way less messy than raw tripe! • The "Kitty Crack" Close Call 💸: For a moment, our human saw the price of this 400g bag and considered a permanent switch to kitty treats because they seemed a bit cheaper. Don’t panic! 😱 We staged an intervention and persuaded her to buy the bigger, more economical bags of ZIWI Peak Dog Cuisine instead. 🦁 Unleash Your Inner Lion (and Save the Birds!) 🐦 Since you felines aren't quite as "domesticated" as us dogs, you deserve to express your natural hunting instincts! 🐈⬛ We highly recommend your owners hide these pieces in puzzle feeders or "indoor hunting" toys. 🧩🐭 Doggy Fact Check: Research from the University of Exeter shows that cats fed a high-meat, grain-free diet—just like this ZIWI recipe—actually bring home 36% fewer wild animals. By getting all your essential nutrients from this "meaty booty," you’ll feel less need to terrorise the local birds and squirrels! It’s a win for your belly and a win for the garden wildlife. 🌳🐾 ⚠️ A Wagging Warning: How to Avoid "Fat-Fat" Syndrome ⚖️ Listen up: this stuff is 96% meat and organs and incredibly calorie-dense. If you eat this like regular kibble, you'll be "fat-fats" in no time! 😹 Use the ZIWI Peak Feeding Calculator to keep your zoomies fast! 🏃♂️💨 ✨ Tech-Savvy Tip! For owners with gadgets: these squares work perfectly in the PetCube camera's treat tosser for mess-free remote rewards! The Verdict: We’ve finished the cat pouch, and while it was a 5-star supplement, we are leaving the rest of the "kitty crack" to you! We’re moving back to the big dog bags!

Really really good food.
Very very good food and i think reasonable price too considering its the only dry food i have found that isnt full of rubbish. Our british shorthair has this to graze on and has a pouch of purrform for dinner. Yes theres cheaper dry food available but what are you comparing it to thats like comparing steak to beef flavour crisps. This is the steak ofcourse lol.

He's like a brand new cat!
I've been buying things off amazon for years and this is my first review because I'm so shocked by how amazing it is. I have a very picky cat who was quite poorly since he was a kitten. He has a very low appetite and if I don't put his topper on food he would go a full day without eating. The last time he finished a plate of food was over 6 months ago and he doesn't have big portions because he is quite tiny due to him being ill. It wasn't difficult switching him over to this food and he took to it surprisingly well. Although he still needs a bit of his favourite treat on top to get him started eating he now finishes his portions without any issue. He actually looks to me for more! It is quite pricey but I have spent more buying bags of food he doesn't eat because he is so picky (I've got quite a lot of full bags of cat food now). He was eating quite healthy food before but due to a recent recall I had to find an alternative. I even noticed a greater improvement in his coat, which I didn't think it was possible. He is a very inactive cat but on this food he seems to be more alert and even started playing a little. It's been less than a week on the food and I'm ready to buy a bigger bag regardless of the price.

Lamb
Bought this for my 20month Main Coon who is very underweight for his age and breed for no apparent reason. He doesn't like it and turns his nose up at it if I try to feed him that alone so I just add a teaspoon to each portion of wet food he has through the day. It's pot luck at the time whether he eats it or leaves it, licked clean of wet meat, back in the feeding bowl. Picky little monkey. He has started to slowly put on some weight though so with perseverance it may or may not be working. It is quite pricey but appears to be good quality although it does smell pretty unpleasant. Going to try the mackerel & lamb mix next time. The addition of fish may just entice him - fingers crossed ;)

Expensive cat food…..
Horrible pate styled, expensive cat food. Purchased when Verandi was no longer available. Came in pack of 24 for £42. One sniff and both cats walked away. After throwing away 5 tins gave up. Gave odd tins to cat owning friends. Not one came back and said their cat liked it. A very expensive mistake.

Best macros for a cat food and a great addition to any cat's diet!
This has the best ratios of protein and fats to volume/weight of all the more ethical dry cat foods I can find in the UK. A bit spendy but I rotate it with a couple of other brands across the day/week. so my cats get the benefit but also the variety. Obviously they have wet food alongside as well to ensure adequate hydration and to give them more variety in meats and fish... but basically it's a fantastic product if you can afford it. As there's often crumbs left in the bottom of the bag, save those in a small pot to use as a topper for wet food to avoid waste (of the lambs' life)!

Yes its expensive but good luck finding dry food thats higher quality
Its literally freeze dried meat so it has no fillers like 99 percent of dry food and it dont spike insulin since no carbs but the bottom of the bag can be dusty as the meat breaks down and your cat might not like the flavour, ours did not like lamb i personally think chicken would be best.

good for upset tummies
I have two Devon Rex kittens. I fed them with expensive UK-branded kitten dry and wet food for several months, they enjoyed it and everything was great. But suddenly one of my kitten had a very soft poo (a bit of blood at the end), the other kitten had the same but also started vomiting and refused to eat and drink for over 24hr. I brought this kitten to the vet, she spent there for 4 days on a dropper as they couldn't find anything. My vet bill was £1399 and they didn't find the reason. They only said to feed her with rice/boiled chicken and give her lots of antibiotics... The vet did tested my kitten's blood, they did do x-ray, they checked if she had pancreatitis, but nothing was found. Therefore my opinion is that it was because of previous kitten food. I immediately transferred my kittens to ZIWIPEAK and their stools started to be solid with no sings of blood. I didn't even do any slow-transitional period because I was scared to feed them with the food I used before... I was really nervous that my kittens would have constipation or vomiting or diarrhea as I didn't introduce new food properly (it was recommended to have at least 5 days transitional period), but everything was just brilliant. I gave them ZIWIPEAK wet food for 2 days , and I introduced air-dried food on the 3rd day. I did add a bit of cat-probiotic on top of their wet food just in case and everything worked really well. I'm so happy to see my kittens enjoying their new food and playing around, pooing solidly. Their poops are less smelly, and there are less of them. I do understand that I need less food to feed them with ZIWIPEAK, but it's still a bit too expensive for me as I have two pets, so I'm going to switch again to something else in couple of months, but if you can afford this food, I would strongly recommend it (ps kittens prefer wet version of this food) .
