Small but surprisingly effective!
When I received this, I was a bit skeptical that this little tiny thing could pump the necessary water out of my boat, but wow was I surprised. It does a fantastic job! I'm using it to supplement the broken bilge in my older-model speed boat. The only reason it didn't receive 5 stars is because it's so small and light that it was tough to direct it into the back of the hull without it flipping on its side and going above the water-line. Would be nice if there was a wider bracket or stabilizer piece that would help it remain upright. Otherwise, fantastic, compact and effective! I also bought the Shoreline Marine Plumbing Kit (hose) to go with it, and it was a great choice - just needed a slightly longer hose given the config of my boat hull.

Fantastic little pump, it saved my entire fishing trip.
I decided to get this little thing before a weekend fishing trip to the mountains of WV. The boat we decided to take was an older aluminum 12 ft. Jon boat. It was been repaired numerous times and both the rivers we were fishing were shallow and rocky in places. I just knew we were going to knock a hole in this boat. I sported for this little Marine pump because of the reviews and the price. I also grabbed some larger alligator clamps that would fit over the posts of my battery and then soldered them in. I had some 3/4" hose, so I cut it to length and took off.Day one within 3 rock strikes I could see a pin hole of daylight through a boat seem in the rear. Once we were taking on water it gave me a chance to give it a try. All I can say is it blew me away. It worked so well I could not believe it. Having water in the boat is not shocking since we are wading a lot and in and out of the boat constantly. When enough water had collected in the back of the boat I would switch it on and within a few seconds, back to fishing. By the last day, the combination of the now larger hole and the rapid over spray, we were taking on water at a semi-alarming rate. No fear, I plugged the pump up and away it went and it never stopped. It sucked tons of little rocks, gravel, sand, leaves, weed bits, etc....I should have burnt this thing up the way I treated it. And for the price I didn't care, I planned on buying a replacement after 5 minutes of running it. However I didn't need to ....this pump never quit, runs today.I would have given up day one of my trip if I would have had to bail water with a solo cup all day. This thing saved the trip. It was as simple as turning around and clamping the positive lead to the battery terminal and watch it go. Fear not when considering buying this pump. It is tough as nails.

Excellent little pump with uses beyond just the bilge
Note: This was posted to the wrong productearlier today. Sorry fo any confuse.********************************************Very versatile little pump that exceeded my expectations. Pump arrived on time, well packaged, but no instructions. But there's an obvious inlet, discharge tube and the 3 ft. long wire leads clearly colored red and black.Original idea was to use it as a filter pump for my 6 ft square Intex pool/spa. Found that the discharge stub perfectly fit the Intex Bellows pump hose, so I order the 5 ft Shore Line bilge hose with the plastic thru-wall wall fitting. After soldering and shrink tubing the leads, hooked it up to a 12V 12 aH battery and placed the pump in the pool. Moved the water quite well and turned out to be appropriately sized for the 120 gal or so pool. Used an old athletic sock that has the reinforced toes, a towel like material. Tied that behind the fitting flange and clamped it with the nut. Worked like a charm. Some debris clogged the pump, but not a problem as the inlet strainer/mounting bracket snaps readily off the hd spring clips for cleaning the impeller. Small section of plastic screen material fixed with hd rubberband on the outside solved that.It was amazing how well that old sock worked. The pool is located under a large pine that constantly sheds needles, bits of bark, etc. Anything that was underwater was captured in the toe of the sock, including the tiny bits of callused skin flaking from my feet and elbows.Quickly realied it would work as a vacuum as well. Perfect for my little pool/spa.Outstanding little powerhouse for my purposes. Now I need another one for the boat.

snazzy
I added a float switch and my 600/2271 Shoreline pump lifted 6 easy feet of water with a wheezed out battery. That's gunna work.

Undependable with very weak flow, if and when it primes!
When ordering this pump I was thinking of that old saying, “If something sounds to good to true, it probably is”. $10 bucks for a bilge pump with supposedly decent output? I installing this in the port transom/floor corner of a 14’ Jon boat with a slow leak or two. Turned the pump on when there was about 2.5-3” of water in the back. It took at least 30 seconds to prime, and even then there was only a slight flow from the outlet, which was no more than 15-16” above the pump. Tried it again about 1.5 hours later with maybe 1.5” of water and it never primed...... A waste of money!Ordered an 800 GPH pump from an established company that evening, and it works as stated. When you REALLY NEED a bilge pump, you need one that primes right now and pumps a darn good amount of water. Especially in a low freeboard boat, taking a wave or two over the transom or where ever can ship a lot of water, which lowers the freeboard even more, meaning the next waves will deposit a greater volume of water for the same wave height. Things can get out of hand in a HURRY!
