Very helpful for assessing big wood slabs
I was having trouble assessing the moisture content on walnut and oak slabs. The surface moisture reading was not always reflective of the inside moisture. One nice thing about these is that they are coated, so you only get a reading across the very tips. The hammer works well. It comes with extra tips.

I did not want to spend the extra money when I ordered this; however, I am glad I did. I how have it and have had a number of opportunities to us it. I believe the use of just the moisture meter would give me an answer, because this allows for deeper penetration, I believe the readings are more correct.

Drives probes into wood easily. The one dislike is the cable attachment is just a slip connection. Wish it was threaded so it is more secure.
