Great vacuum so far!
I bought this vacuum "Open Box" - "Used" on Amazon. It was the last one of this type and the price was only $45! Much better than what vacuums like it are selling for. I had a Eureka before and have never been happier with a vacuum cleaner. I had to leave it behind at my last apartment and couldn't bring it since I was getting on a plane and couldn't ship it. I had it for 3 years and it functioned like it was a brand new, so I decided to get another Eureka. After reading many reviews of other vacuums and checking out various ones in the stores, I decided to purchase this one after seeing it on Amazon. It looks like a newer model of what I use to have. Like I said, I bought it "Used", but when I got it the vacuum looked like it had never been used since it had no dust particles on it whatsoever. It was open boxed because I could see where it had been opened before, but everything was packed individually and wrapped. It was easy to put together and it works really well so far. My only complain is that it's a little flimsy especially compared to the older model Eureka that I had, but it seemed like other model vacuums in the store were really flimsy as well, so for the price I'm extremely satisfied and hope it lasts for years to come.

Excellent machine
I bought the red one. No idea what the various colors indicate, but the red version was the least expensive. This vacuum really works well, what a relief to get the dog hair off the wood floor, the carpet and the furniture. Terrific suction. Very easy to use the dust canister, so much better and more cost efficient than paper bags. The hose and the tool head are great for getting dog hair off furniture. Very pleased so far!!

Works Great!
This vacuum is easy to use and and easy to clean. The filter is removable and washable and so is the vacuum compartment. Occasionally there is a high pitch whine when I have been using it for more than 10 minutes, so 4 stars. I have a long haired cat and this does a great job at picking up his fur. Great product!

Embarrassingly poor durability
The good: When it worked, it worked as well as you can expect from a ~$50 vacuum. The wand attachment worked OK for collecting hair, but had poor suction and the brushes would barely spin. Easy to assemble, light The bad: Immediately off the bat, you notice how loud and annoying it sounds. Yes, even for a vacuum. I cannot emphasize how cheaply made it feels. Everything creaks and nothing feels substantial. The hose will NOT stay attached. You can count on it disconnecting (at least once) every time you use it. You should know that the cord is not retractable, and there is no light. I don't understand how they couldn't include a 50 cent LED in 2018. The ugly: Remember how I mentioned it being extraordinarily loud? That masked the sound of the cheap internal components slowly failing. Within a month the sound morphed into an occasional grinding noise. Eventually, the main brush simply stopped spinning. I opened it up and expected to replace the main belt. The belt was perfectly fine, but had slipped off the metal pin roller. Simple fix right? WRONG There is a second guide pin that kept the belt from sliding off. Over time, the cheap plastic that kept it secured had disintegrated. It's not worth going into the details, but this was obviously some poor design/engineering. This component will almost always fail when it is so dependent on some flimsy plastic housing. Embarrassing. Bottom line: I didn't even bother contacting Eureka about it. I didn't want it to be replaced with another chintzy piece of trash. After a bit of runaround, Amazon was gracious enough to allow me to return it for a partial refund. Never again, Eureka.

You have to clean it after every use.
Although it is a hassle to clean this vacuum every time, it maintains a very good suction if you do. I have been very happy with the performance of this vacuum. The cord is nice and long. For the price this vacuum is really nice. I cannot believe how powerful the suction is!!! Cons - I wish it had a better and longer flexible hose, and a few more attachments. I wish the beater bar height was more adjustable. Follow up: I don't believe this vacuum is available anymore, but I just wanted to say it lasted about two years before it failed. The weak link is the belt interface with the beater bar. I was finally unable to fix this problem and ordered a new vacuum. It was still a good vacuum for the $50 I paid for it. Great suction and lightweight. Easy to clean and the suction stayed strong if I cleaned it regularly - every two vacuumings. I ordered another Eureka of a similar type and just a little more expensive.

Nicely done!
I was very skeptical about this product because of all the mean comments regarding its durability. I own the red model for a month now, and I have found it okay. Well, there is always something you can improve about things. The vacuum is easy to install. The floor tool is spectacular for tiled floors. It just draws in all the dust and pet hair very nicely. The hand tool...not so much, but it works. It will draw in everything after passing it several times. For the price, it's a very effective vacuum.

The Fur-Minator@
March 2019 Vacuum had stopped working. Belt is not broken. It is the motor, it has shifted, burning the shaft and retaining pin. Customer support is LOUSY. How many times are they going to ask me if I have plugged it in, turned it on and is the brush roll moving? BTW Customer Survice only avail M - F 9 - 5. 800-282-2886 I live in a 37ft RV with 6 cats. (Yeah, yeah, hush.) This beastie gets all the hair (even out of the pet beds and my sweat jacket!) and is quieter than my previous handheld and uprights. Well, it started out quiet and did a great job. Now, it leaves stuff behind.

I’m spending more time cleaning the vacuum than cleaning with the vacuum...
A great feature about this vacuum is that it comes apart easily which means when it clogs after every third use then you can easily take it apart and remove the clog! It started off well, putting it together was straightforward, it seemed to suck up things well and was lightweight. The first issue was with the filter inside the canister, I noticed that it tends to get very dirty very quickly and needs a deep clean often. I took all the pieces apart and got every bit of dust and dirt out by washing it in the bathtub. Fine, all vacuums need this at some point. But now the thing clogs with a tiny bit of hair and dust and won’t work until I take it all apart and clean it out. See pictures; this is now clogging from a loose, ping pong ball sized dust ball and some guinea pig food. It seems to get stuck around the ‘bend’ in the tube going from the base to the canister. I’m disappointed since I had a eureka for about 7 years and it worked really well until the motor started to struggle a few months ago. I wish I could return this vacuum to find something better.
