Q: all reviewers got the product free, has anyone actually bought the product?

I bought it and it is exactly what I wanted and needed. Wish it was gifted to me.

1,000 Lumens = the brightness of a 75-Watt Equivalent LED lightbulb like we use in normal household lighting fixtures. So on high, it provides plenty of light!

Q: Can this be used in the rain? I see the on/off knob pretty exposed, does the knob hole collect water? Thanks

I have never used the lantern in the rain. However, all of the knobs are on the top. It would not be a good idea to try it in the rain.

Q: I’m trying to find a light I can use in my tent that won’t blind me. Is this the one - on the low setting?

The low setting might be a little bright in an otherwise dark tent. I'm guessing it's about like looking at a 25 watt light bulb. That's not too bright for me, but people have different ideas about what is too bright. Since I cannot say it is "very dim", I don't think anyone can make that decision but you, unfortunately.

Bought from usa, a nightmare to return if faulty like mine. note read extra info from amazon.

this is NOT from amazon. bought two, one very good, other broken. a major shambles trying to return it.Avoid this and buy elsewhere. these are made in CHINA so Coleman,s good name for quality may not be as good for this item. will now buy an official chinese made one cheaper. Save possible hassle buy elsewhere.sat 22 october.Amazon has accepted this and refunded the cost, I can't see why this has to be from the USA direct. Still thank you amazon for your honesty and fair dealing.
