The media could not be loaded. Allows you to add crushed coral to a sponge filter. For the price, very good. I’m hesitant to brag on this stuff lest they raise the price. Literally there is not much to it but it is a great concept and works. The only thing I don’t find wonderful about it is that you cannot pivot the sponges like you can with many of these sponge filters thst suction to a the wall of the tank.

Sure, this filter is cheap, but whoever designed it needs a raise. It's made in a way that you can easily clean and maintain the product. Every piece can be taken apart to clean, even inside the tubes. It's a sponge filter, so wringing it out in old aquarium water or dechlorinated water will clean it and keep the beneficial filter microbes. The sponges should last for years. Very well designed product with nothing that can plug up and no part which can't be cleaned or sterilized. I'm dead serious, whoever designed this is a master at their craft and really understands aquariums and their maintenance.

The thing I didnt like: The bubbles pop on the surface and get your LED light wet. I had to turn down the air pump. The bio media holder comes off too easy and the media may spill out-- the seal isn't very good. However, other than that, It works good so far. Keeps the water clear in an 8 gallon tank With small fish and shrimp. The Price is right!

These sponge filters are the best. Easy to set up, cost effective, and give my shrimp and fish a place to enjoy some algae. I have 3 good size tanks and they are all crystal clear thanks to these little babies.

The item was fine, but clearly opened already before I got it. It been semi taped up. But the real problem was, the directions were not in there for use. Luckily, I had already bought one previously a while back, and they could sort of figure out how to do it.

Use these in all my 10Gal Shrimp tanks... work just fine..

Wow, this filter is so powerful. This is the clearest I have seen my 8 gallon biorb fish tank in 20 years. for an inexpensive filter, it really does a great job. FYI, I did switch out the media for siporax mini bio filter media by Sera.

Sponges were bright neon green. It doesn't look like the photo at all. It didn't come with all the parts to even use it. You have to buy a separate motor. So disappointed in this product. I was excited for it to be way better.
